"Would the answer had gone the other way, today you would have been reading the same type of comments from those who supported Kosovo, thus as everyone has said from day one, the opinion itself is not going to change anything for those who have already taken a stand, it will only influence those who have not." (pss)

-- It certainly seems that way. I doubt the US, Germany, Britain et al would have changed their minds as well. So business as usual only with Pristina with a notably bigger hand to play.

"But it is interesting to note that the Brazilian judge sided with the majority on the case, one has to wonder if that will play into the Brazilian politics though." (pss)

-- Aye. The real diplomatic battle now will be Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. Not a surprise Belgrade's sending officials to 50 countries in the coming days for the anticipated damage control. I assume Brazil is one of said countries.

Less than 24 hours in, Serbia already has reaffrimed support from Russia, China, Slovakia, and Cyprus. I have no doubt Spain will follow suit as will Romania. Greece may go one way or the other. Now it remains to be seen how much Belgrade can trust other countries like India, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

On the contrary both Romania and the Greek foreign ministry have re-affirmed their positions remained unchanged despite the ICJ ruling.

So, Russia and China are not respected. I guess your beloved USA is. America is the most dissliked country in the world. More europeans think that America is more prone to start wars then any other country. You have been fed lies lies lies. You need to wake up.
America and the EU has brought Serbia nothing but trouble and pain. They bombed our country and stole our territory and gave it to terrorists. There can never be peace until Serbian land is returned!

What's more interesting is that all sides are pushing for new talks. The only difference is one side wants talks without concern for status, while the other does.

Dear my neighbors Serbs, I would not be so happy with their (China, Russia) support; first of all because: neither is EU member, they are still communist regimes who do not care much about human rights and good governance, they are disliked by entire democratic world in this regard etc. Thus, I simply do not understand happiness of anyone accordingly! Taking into account the fact that Serbia is in centre of Europe, makes these facts much more confusing and weird. Dear my neighbors, you must once for ever be aware of your weight in respect to global developments, so calm down, take a glance to your (not so bright) background and start acting naturally according to the reality, which has taught you several times that you are doing wrong.

Of course, China's position has nothing to do with a particular love for Serbia, merely their own concerns over Tibet. Likewise Russia and Chechnya and Spain and the Basque Country. They're all hypocrites as are the Western powers with regard to Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Regardless of the ICJ decision, if this ends up at the negotiating table then it is success for Serbia. If this ends up in an acceptable agreement then it is success for all.

Alternatively, we can continue to poke each other in the eye for the next millenium. What will it be?
