Ida,

I have never heard of Romanians going to Serbia to find jobs.

On 1 January 2014 all EU Member States will lift the restrictions on Romanian and Bulgarian workers.

Serbia has been crippling and harming itself doing things to make it supposedly acceptable for the EU - and EU which doesn't seem to want Serbia (at least for a long time) but sends millions to Serbia to NGOs and similar to promote "pro-EU" activities. I just read recently of Germany doing that.

Getting Serbs to want to be in the EU causes them to do the EU's bidding - it gives the EU power of them. That is really what the EU wants - to control Serbs and get them to jump at its commands.

Furthermore I read last month that Bulgaria's food prices have quadrupled since it joined the EU.

There was an article which said Bulgarians are now going to Macedonia to buy food since their food prices have gotten so high due to their joining the EU.

Plus there's the fact that Romanians and Bulgarians have to leave their country for work and there's even some thousands of Bulgarians and Romanians coming to Serbia for work.

The EU treats certain members different than others.
Serbia would not be treated as an equal if it made the EU anyhow.

There are still certain restrictions on Bulgarians and Romanians too in regards to the EU.

Serbs need to stop wanting to get in the EU and concentrate on doing what's best for their country and economy.

Aleks,

Do you think that Serbia has a chance to join the EU before 2020?

I don't think it is possible, but I would like to read your opinion.

Keep in mind that Croatia started accession negotiations in 2005 and will probably join the EU in 2012 or 2013.

The irony of Belgium being taken seriously over such an issue cannot be over emphasized. It is funny that for such a long time both sides have said that it is only the nationalist minority who wants to split up Belgium but a significant portion of the flemish voted for the NV-A. So, deluded belgian pols really aren't a credit to anyone.

As to EU pressure, it is just more of the same from the usual suspects. Even with such a strict ruling, there is still no EU unanimity on Kosovo and there will be none. What will these member states do now? Threaten not to implement the SAA? Stop their investment in to Serbia?

A mighty wind indeed.

I'm looking forward to reading the whole judgment with a large gin and tonic.

Joining the EU and recognizing KiM are no longer seperate issues, according to the EU elites. Good. Now we can focus eastward: join BRIC, get the S. Stream working, bring RUS military and do what needs to be done. EU-UK-USA clearly want to destroy our soul by legitimizing Albanian terrorism. They all hate our ethnic identity, our religion and history. We have Eastern allies who love us. No more playing both sides like Brankovic & Prince Milos. Its time to take a stand like Lazar & King Peter

"Call it what you like, "status" negotiations or "technical" negotiations"

Now it's called "dialogue on issues of common interests". May both sides be pleased with this new terminology ;-)

Call it what you like, "status" negotiations or "technical" negotiations. The table is being set and lets hope peace previals. The days of the ultra nationalists and their paid supporters are coming to an end.

Zoran,

At the moment I hear about intensive negotiations between Russia and Serbia about the delivery of T-90 and between Israel and Serbia about the delivery of Merkava-4... I will know, the peace will prevail and there will be fair status negotiations regarding KiM.

Israel does conduct fair status negotiations with Palestinian terrorists, so Serbian government has the role model they should follow.

Catherine Ashton is to present the EU stand on July 22, and call on Belgrade and Priština to a dialog on issues of common interest.

Anyone want to continue the argument that Serbia's relationship with Kosovo is not a condition for membership to the EU?
However, you can still say that Serbia will not have to "recognize" Kosovo independence.
