"Milisavljević said that he did not wish to discuss possible motives behind the attack, and added that the case was reported to the Kosovo police."

Yep, that will bear fruit.

Desperation coming from albanian side is real, and someone should do something before they start with the already seen terror attacks.

"Whilst we cannot rule out the work of crazed angry individuals with a grudge - history tells us that most ethnically related attacks in Kosovo are politically motivated and premeditated. "

Does this includes the current stoning of Serb returnees, and the events in 2004? All politically motivated and orchestrated?
I don't wanna believe that!

From what I gather this guy is a quite moderate guy. His son is also in the working group that is planning for the creation of the new N. Mitrovica municipality; something that is foreseen in the Ahtisari plan. It may be that there are those in N. Mitrovica who may want this guy dead because he is applying the Ahtisari plan there.

Ratko,

I do not know who commited this crime and whether it was an albanian or a serb...I was not there and for all we know this might not be politically motivated at all.

I was responding to Zoran's comment - what I do know is that albanians do not benefit from this - that was my point.

If you leave your emotions aside, you'll realise what I am saying makes sense i.e. trouble in the north benefits serbs political intentions i.e. presenting Kosovo as a non-functioning state that does not protect mintorities, it adds to the argument for partition and renewed status talks. If you combine these recent attacks with reports on the media about possible Serbia's moves / strategy after ICJ decision, you'll realise that they complement each other.

It could be just a conincidence or it is a premeditated and planned strategy to increase tensions in the north.

I am not saying this because I believe that albanians loves serbs so much that we would never attack them - but simply put - attacks on serbs (especially in the north) only harm our political aspirations at this moment of time.

Whilst we cannot rule out the work of crazed angry individuals with a grudge - history tells us that most ethnically related attacks in Kosovo are politically motivated and premeditated.

Now I am open minded, and if you can present me with good arguments and motives as to why you think this was an attack by an albanian, aside from the usual 'albanians are out to kill all serbs', I am willing to consider your theory.

Have you ever in your life admitted that albanain was reponsible for anything? Even if there was video footage showing the crime you would still deny it. Noone knows albans like K Serbs.

Since the Kosovo police refuses to catch any of the murderers constantly attacking Serbs there is no "real" proof of who the attacker are. That way albanians can claim to be innocent and come with outrageous claims even if the whole world know they are guilty as hell.
Isn't it somewhat odd that after thousands of similar attacks on Serbs there is yet one suspect to be caught and sentenced.

"It is fairly obvious who benefits from a volatile north and it certainly isn't Serbians.
(Zoran, 20 July 2010 11:40)"

I doubt you are being sarcastic!

Can you enlighten us and tell us how albanians benefit from this?

It is exactly the serbs who benefit from a volatile north. All you have to do is look at your politicians how they eagerly jump at every incident using that as an argument for new talks, partition, blaming albanians and scoring various other political points.

Hey, KPS will be there, investigate, and will soon find out it has been "playing kinds" who incidently took a explosive device instead of the usual stones!

These criminals want the north to be outlaw district where they can operate freely, this has nothing to do with Albanian/Serb issues rather keep that place out from law and order.
