Uli, did you misspell Armenia? Allies implies an equal status as a partner. Kosovo's relationship with the US is more parasitic. Kosovo wants to suck as much out of the US as it can since the population has nothing to offer.

If Kosovo was part of Serbia as you claim the extradition order would have been sent to Belgrade & UNMIK.

Thanks

Then why are they citing the treaty from the kingdom of Serbia?

"Indeed, the Yugoslave law. And Kosovo does not have to right to split from Yugoslavia under this law. "

The U.S. didn't have the right to split from England under English law, either. Or under what passed for international law at the time. But we did split, and eventually England got over it. It took steady nerves and some help from a big friend (France), but in time it all worked out.

# US is asking EULEX to send this guy to America. By this US is recognizing the fact that Kosovo is still part of Serbia. As EULEX is working only (and ONLY) in the framework of UNMIK. Based on 1244....

What's this
Maybe you did not read the article a couple of days ago where it was stated that Eulex rejected the request based on Kosovo law.
Of course it would not matter if you did read it, as you have a tendency to surround yourself with a cloak of denial and live in a self created perversion of reality.

Ron

pre 13 godina

Amer,

"Actually, it's not. The basic law of Kosovo set up when UNMIK was running the show was Yugoslav law as of the day before the revocation of Kosovo's autonomy. "

Indeed, the Yugoslave law. And Kosovo does not have to right to split from Yugoslavia under this law.

Ergo: Kosovo is still part of Serbia. This can change but only by a mutual agreement.

RKS

ROn,

once again you've given proof that your cheery picking reading is so biased you can't even read clearly.

US has sent the extradition order to EULEX and Government of Kosovo. It wasn't EULEX that arrested Asllani but the team effort of Special forces of KP, and 5 FBI agents. If Kosovo was part of Serbia as you claim the extradition order would have been sent to Belgrade & UNMIK.

Thanks

Unfortunately there are some sick heads that thing different. Those sick heads are a very minority in Albania and Kosovo ( Kosovo albanians suprise me how muslym fanatic some are ) and that is good news. Ameria is our biggest allies and the sick heads dont see that. Get a life.

"US is asking EULEX to send this guy to America. By this US is recognizing the fact that Kosovo is still part of Serbia. "

Actually, it's not. The basic law of Kosovo set up when UNMIK was running the show was Yugoslav law as of the day before the revocation of Kosovo's autonomy. This corpus has since then been amended by UNMIK rulings and Kosovo's own laws. The 1901 legislation was simply carried along with the rest of Yugoslav law.

This can be changed by an extradition agreement between Kosovo and the US. Agreements of this kind are usually bilateral - the U.S. has them with many, but not all, countries. Such a procedure was suggested at the time of the Kovacevich (was that his name?) disagreements, but Serbia rejected the idea as infringing on its sovereignty. Recently, when Serbia wanted a criminal extradited from Croatia, it decided an agreement was in its best interests. It might be something for Thaci to discuss when he's in the U.S. - after all, it would mean their criminals couldn't flee to America, as well, although I doubt we are knowingly holding any against Prishtina's wishes.

Press release....

"The facts as alleged in this complaint underscore the connectivity between extremists at home and abroad and the global nature of the terrorist threat we face. At the same time, the arrest of Asllani demonstrates how effective cooperation among international partners serves to address such threats. I applaud the many agents, analysts and prosecutors who helped bring about this important case,” said David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for National Security."

"George E.B. Holding, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, reports, “Through Asllani’s arrest, the arm of justice is proven strong enough to reach those who would do us harm. We shall continue in our relentless effort against those aspiring to commit terrorist acts on U.S. citizens, whether here or abroad.”

Kind of embarrassing for the FBI and the Justice Dept. ..the arm of justice seems to be pretty short.

OK here's a theory America's great God is capitalism. War and terrorism are good business. Capitalism needs terrorism. So with Afghanistan being cleaned up maybe they need some new terrorist hotbeds to justify the military spend and more profits.

Enter stage left Miss Bosnia, quickly followed by Miss Kosovo. Don't they look beautiful. Lets screw them both and make a profit while we are doing it.

Remember Miss Vietnam, Miss Cambodia, Miss Chile, Miss Nicaragua or how about Miss Cuba. We had a real good time with those beauties.

Aslani is also suspected of making terrorism-related video presentations, translating them from English to Albanian. Among other scenes, the videos show suicide bombers equipped with explosives attacking an American convoy of vehicles. "

What a joke! Oh man i'm confused, i thought these albanians were freedom fighters and best friends with slick willy.
