Serbia should make it loud and clear that she has no intent to govern Albanians, only her territory.

Albanians should have the right to PERSONAL authonomy and govern their issues. Territorial issues remain with Serbia. Such arrangements exist elsewhere and Albanians should get accustomed to this idea. If they want territory, they have their national state already. It is called Albania.

Seeing hoe EU is preparing blackmail they must be fairly certain that ICJ will rule favourably toward Serbia.

Why on earth would Serbia want to join such a morally bankrupt club?
Only Tadic can answer that one.

Jim is exactly right. The EU is showing that it knows that the ICJ will render an opinion that Serbia has a legitimate position. This is scaring the big powers of the EU, and they are trying to blackmail Serbia into not proceeding in the UN. Now the question is whether we Serbs have the integrity and courage to fight for our just territorial integrity, or whether we will lose our backbone and kneel before the big powers of the EU, an organization that has shown that their "promises" have no credibility if they are so prone to blackmail. I pray we don't become fools before Brussels.

If the ICJ rules in favor of Serbia, then Serbia can sue for the removal of the us, britain and france from the UN Security Council claiming that the Council is too "western-europe-centric". france is most likely the loser in that exchange. These eu buffoons are meeting to discipline each other not to withdraw their recognitions after the verdict since it is their "sovereign-right". Like I said two years ago, this isn't about Serbs or albos - it's a war between the retarded us-eu "nation-builders" and the rest of the world that resent them.
(JohnBoy, 17 July 2010 22:15)

John, I would even go further and require Serbia replace the US, Azerbaijan replace France and ultimately Ghana replace GB....lol

I don't get the point you're trying to make. What Greece's austerity programme has to do with Serbia's decision
to propose a resolution to the UN General Assembly for opening new Kosovo status negotiations.

If Serbia tries to appease the EU countries by not proposing a new UNresolution
it is my opinion that the worldwide support that enjoys at present will be dilluted.

The EU and the west in general has nothing to offer to Serbia.

Kind of naive are'nt we? The term "permanent member" means permanent, not at the whim of Serbia.

If these eu clowns were so sure that kosovo's udi was legal, then why are they setting up this meeting and why is the hungarian french president competing to be the first foreign leader to visit Belgrade after the verdict? Because, for the first time, they see Serbia's strategy that I mentioned on this site two years ago. In order to validate their stupid diplomacy, the ICJ has to rule that the udi is completely legal and the chances of that are ZERO. If the ruling is the expected ambiguity, Serbia then says, Well, if the ICJ can't decide, then let the General Assembly debate it and we get treated to an endless parade of denuciations from every country that has a grudge against the us-eu alliance. If the ICJ rules in favor of Serbia, then Serbia can sue for the removal of the us, britain and france from the UN Security Council claiming that the Council is too "western-europe-centric". france is most likely the loser in that exchange. I am only curious: if it would be Israel, not Serbia - what would they do in the case of ANY kind of positive feedback from ICJ.

My humble guess: the deeds would have more to do with Merkava-IV than with begging EU for some extra useless promises. And you know what... Israel is 100% correct with what he does.

There is of course always a way for improvement: they maybe should modernize Merkava-IV. Or buy T-90 or Leopard. That's the improvement I am thinking about.

"Serbia - a state that has democratised and made massive headway on a range of issues in recent years "

I.E succumb and grovel to whatever demands €USSR may call "democratic", that is.

€USSR was the group of nation that attacked Serbia 10 years ago and they will get away with blatant blackmailing as long as the groveling on our part goes on. Enough already!

Jim

If the leading members of the EU do try to prevent Serbia from taking any decision to the UN by formally linking it with Serbia's EU accession, and get away with this, it will be the most shameful act in the history of the EU. The EU will cease to have any credibility on the international stage. To so shamelessly blackmail Belgrade for simply trying to defend its territorial integrity through exclusively peaceful means and by working through international would be a repudiation of everything the EU supposedly stands for. It will no longer be able to preach respect for the UN and the need to adhere to international law.

The fact that Serbia - a state that has democratised and made massive headway on a range of issues in recent years - is expected to roll over to allow these countries an easy way out the mess they have created by caving in to KA threats of violence only makes it even more appalling. Serbia is being punished because no one wants to suffer the consequences of a KA tantrum.

This would be wrong on so many levels it defies belief.

Sources from the countries that have recognized Kosovo told Danas that the West does not want Serbia to propose a resolution to the UN General Assembly for opening new Kosovo status negotiations.

The sources believe that such a move would be considered a “confrontation with the 22 EU member states that have recognized Kosovo’s independence.”

The sources claim that if Serbia insists on the resolution, there would definitely be a stronger link created between the Kosovo issue and Serbia’s European integration.

B92

This naked blackmail on Serbia is another attempt by leading EU countries to cover up their illegal bombing of Serbia and avoid future prosecution for the war crimes commited during that intervention.

The war on Serbia by the west was a rehearsal for the wars on Iraq and Afganistan planned by the Us and war criminal Blair who's been pretty busy recently building his real estate portfolio across the world.

Serbia must stand to its principled ground, waive two fingers at Germany,UK,France and take its case again to UN.This is about International law which has been bended to the breaking point only to suit some very specific political agendas of the US neocons.
