Take time out and travel in your country and open your eyes and you will see that things are not that great. You statement reminds me of a senior Soviet General that could not come to terms with the death of Communism in Russia and all he could do was espouse terms such as “proletariat”, people’s movement”, freedom of the working class and so on.
As far as willing two major wars, that was a long time ago and a lot of water has passed under that bridge. I suggest that you stay away from the media for a while.

The wars on Iraq and Afganistan were nothing more than wars of aggression, without any justification that would stand the light of day.
The sad truth is that millions, in the US and the UK, are unemployed already, and millions more are likely to be plunged into jobless poverty, as a direct result of the wasteful expenditure in those wars.
In the meantime those responsible have become extraordinarily rich (Bush,Cherney and Blair being well known examples) while their countries are implementing austerity measures for their follies.

NATO said six American service members were killed in east Afghanistan Saturday. Four of the Americans died in separate incidents in the east involving small arms fire and an insurgent attack. The other two died in separate roadside bombings in the south.

Iam certain these soldiers died without knowing what they died for.
Iam also certain that alot more soldiers will die until a face saving formula is found to get the politicians and the generals off the hook.
When the war ends and the occupying forces leave Afganistan defeated and humiliated the politicians on both sides of the Atlantic will order the construction of war memorials
and start eulogising the soldiers war sacrifices.

No Greeks die there. Also it is American and not Greek money.

NATO said six American service members were killed in east Afghanistan Saturday. Four of the Americans died in separate incidents in the east involving small arms fire and an insurgent attack. The other two died in separate roadside bombings in the south.

Iam certain these soldiers died without knowing what they died for.
Iam also certain that alot more soldiers will die until a face saving formula is found to get the politicians and the generals off the hook.
When the war ends and the occupying forces leave Afganistan defeated and humiliated the politicians on both sides of the Atlantic will order the construction of war memorials
and start eulogising the soldiers war sacrifices.

One more thing, Joe-NY, while you guys gloat about World War 2, you would do well to recall your more recent war history in Vietnam where you fled in utter defeat.
And your 1973 history does show every indication of repeating itself in Afghanistan -- which was what this thread is all about in the first place.
