Mighty rich of you calling our desire to live as one people under one nation "radical". Last I checked it was Serbs that started wars of seccession in Croatia and BiH and now stirring trouble North of Ibar.
=================
Well check again Zoti because you are dead wrong.
Slovenia broke away first. I am guessing it was the Slovenian Serbs there that did that. Am I right on that one?
Then Croatians were smuggling arms from Hungary in order to secede. Was that the Serbs of Croatia who were smuggling arms?

Then the first casualty in Bosnia was a Serb. Did the Serb shoot at the Serbian wedding party and kill one of his own?

Last but not least KLA started murdering Serbian police in Kosovo which provoked a rather heavy handed reaction but still a reaction. Now the Serbs of Kosovo wanted to secede from Serbia and call their new country Kosova?

So do tell, how exactly did the Serbs start secession in any of these places?
Stop with your lies once and for all. You look positively ridiculous now.

Radicalism is on the rise in the Albanian community here in the US and apparently elsewhere as well based on what I see in the community and on sites like this.

If Serbs had been more tolerant and we could have solved this issue 60 years ago right after the war where the Albanian speaking territories in Yugoslavia could have joined Albania but you decided you wanted to have the cake and eat too.

Now you just have to deal with the consequences of your actions in the last 60 years.

"So, you don't accept that a Serb in Northern Kosovo thinks otherwise? Strange comment coming form a liberal-minded person. What's the problem with you?" (genc)

-- I'm simply saying that in light of recent events, people like Miletic will unfortunately find their positions increasingly precarious. I'm certainly not implying he doesn't have a right to live where he does. But given the socio-political realities in northern Kosovo (and the determination by Belgrade in holding on to it at all costs), he carries about as much legitimacy as the Serbian mayor of Pristina (a nice fellow mind you, but I'm sure you can imagine how much time the man has to spare in Gracanica).

Personally speaking, I had no idea Miletic or the party he represents even existed prior to his shooting.

genc

-- I agree. Considering where he gets his paycheck, he's pretty useless up there. Best to move to Pristina.

Really do you? Maybe because you're one-sided regarding offences. Than take a trip among the pro-Seb comments; you'll find plenty of evidence. Should I make names? No need, you'll find them out yourself

MetroD,

I am appalled by the number of Greater Albania rhetoric on this site and many others. I have no bias either way, but looking from the outside, I'm starting to develop a clearer picture of what is actually occuring and what each side is looking to achieve. I read very few posts with reference to a greater Serbia. Radicalism is on the rise in the Albanian community here in the US and apparently elsewhere as well based on what I see in the community and on sites like this.

"Miletić was shot two days ago in northern Kosovska Mitrovica in front of his apartment building. Commenting on the incident, he said he did not believe that he had been wounded for participating in the work of the Kosovo assembly in Priština.

Miletić told Radio Free Europe that he had been aware that accepting the position in the Kosovo assembly was "risky" but that he "did not known that he was risking his life by doing so".
=========================

First and second paragraph contradict each other.
Fist he states that he did not believe that his job had anything to do with it and then he says that he is risking his life for doing his job.
Which one does he believe?

Maybe he was shot by a Serb and maybe he was not. We don't know that for sure and he certainly doesn't. He is only speculating like the rest of us. Judging by the two contradicting statements he is confused.

I'm wondering how many more moderates like him are in N Mitrovica.

Any effort to accpet reality and move forward will probably be squashed by the war mongering individuals who want nothing short of Greater Serbia.

"This just shows how safe North really is today for ordinary Serbs." (Pejoni)

"The attack on Miletić occurred three days after the incident in the ethnically mixed Bošnjačka Mahala neighborhood of the divided town, when Mesud Džeković died in a hand grenade explosion, while 11 others were wounded.

There have been no arrests in either case."

Both cases will be hard to investigate since the perpetrators hide in the terrorist heaven of North Kosovo, where EULEX is threatened to operate and court houses burnt down. Extreme measure are needed to purge this area from those elements, once and for all.
