As the propaganda is spinning around, some people are so blindly obsessed with the idea of joining €U (and even the aggression pact NATO since you cant have one without the other) that nothing else matters.

So sitting on our hands waiting to be anschlussed into oblivion while implementing every human-hostile law they & IMF demand from us, seems tro be better then actually doing something for OUR society?

The world is going the other way, towards more freedom and democrasy while the old colonial powers are digging further down into an orwellian nightmare and sure, their serbian vassals are joining the dying bride. Just move on folks! All of you will instantly become rich once you join the €USSR, so sais the media and they cant be wrong....

Tadic , Draskovic and others have sold this country out to join one of the most anti democratic bureaucracies on earth.
A bloated organisation which can't balance it's accounts, whose laws override national laws and ensure the ending of sovereignty.
What does Tadic expect? Euro milliions pouring in making for an easy life?
Like Greece? These fools are not being straight.
Tadic has lost kosovo, seems happy to get Turkey involved in the Balkans despite her recognising Kosovo. He seems determined to let RS go and
become part of a centralised Euro-Boniak controlled state.
He's labelled all Serbs as genocidal certainly in RS by passing that vote of apology in Parliament( Based on the silly idea that others will apologise. How many so far? Count it as nil..No Croatia apology for Ustashe slaughter, none from the Bosniaks)
This man and his ilk are not defending Serbdom but selling Serbs out. They are really marionettes who are fooling the Serb people and surely not even the Serb people cannot be this stupid to allow this to continue.Or are they?

Zoran,

I enjoy most of your comments, but you lose me with your criticism of Tadic - and I don't like your reference to zuta bojanka.

But your references to NATO as a criticism don't represent the facts. Tadic was quoted last week stating NATO was not on the agenda and that at this point in time the Partnership for Peace was sufficient for Serbia's purposes.

Vuk Jeremic agrees with that stance.

I understand Dragan Sutanovic has asked for discussion to commence. His concern as the Minister for Defence is simple - its important not to be surrounded by unfriendly NATO countries, but his stance is at odds with those of the DS.

Colin

Doesn't Tadic notice that NATO is on the way out? Germany's defense minister, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, wants out of Afghanistan and clear rules for further interventions, also questioning the basis of recent NATO adventures. This position is contradictory to american wishes for NATO. See here:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/german-defence-minister-questions-role-of-nato-in-afghanistan-war-2013056.html

A former defense Minister has just called for boosting the Euro Army. Europe continues to ignore US calls to boost defense spending. NATO can hold hands and sing campfire songs to the media as much as it wants, but it is little more than show. Fundamental divisions remain and will not dissapear (much like Japanese and Korean anger over US bases on their territory). The US policy? No change!

Germany sees Russia as a strategic partner and has heavily invested there, not to mention north stream. The US does not. Germany is the EU's paymaster so ganging up on it will not work, particularly as they have shown in the last couple of years that their patience is limited and no longer wish to be taken for granted.

So, how can NATO bridge this chasm? It can't. NATO has been dead since 1989, only momentum and invented crises keep its feeble pulse going. All things must end.

I've lived in Belgrade for 2 years now. When I see the system plus corruption here and when I read this article, it couldn't be further from the truth.

"Democracy" is just a word that gets thrown around. Party politics is what determines direction and not the will of the people. It pains me to say that corruption goes straight to the top while the average citizen pays for it. It's no wonder this government was bought for a mere few million Euros.

Here we have Draskovic, talking about our tradition and identity - referring back to the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. A time when we fought and never gave up for our freedom. However, Draskovic is our ambassador to NATO. He and Tadic are now asking us to sell our freedom. What else does it mean when they say "establishing of an organised and democratic Serbia is possible only with the country's serious and courageous accession to Euro-Atlantic ingrations".

Listen to the words. In a nice way, they are saying "Lets sell our sovereignty to Brussels and join NATO, whose aim was to bomb us into submission so we can fight other people's wars".

It would effectively be like surrendering to the Ottomans back in 1389. As far as I'm concerned, these people with their deceiving ways are the worst.

Unless 10 billion barrels of oil are found in Serbia, no EU until 2018-2020 for anyone. Nothing personal, Greece screwed everything for the Balkans (and Bulgaria and Roma-nia) and Germany and others are not happy
