And still I must laugh: Kosovo, president. Since when does a province have a president?

Stop the nonsense please!
(Ron, 27 June 2010 15:15)

Ron
It is by all means your privilege on choosing to ignore things. However please try to understand that your choice to ignore does not make them neglectable for everybody else. This is just like seeing nothing with your eyes closed and thinking that everybody else around you sees nothing just like you.
For your information dear friend: Kosovo as province had its president from 1974 until 1989 when Milosevic eliminated Kosovo's autonomy.
Kosovo is independent country for 69 countries of the world and of course has its president.

Peter Sudyka

Quite a summit: Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo. Together these countries barely even match the GDP of Croatia alone, or Serbia alone, or Bulgaria alone. So what kind of a regional summit was it?

You didnt bother using the link did you? I stated clearly, 300 Slovenian companies cant be wrong.

Actually I did look at the article. Unbeliveable isn't it?
Do you usually fall for something as obvious as this or it's just convenient to use an unsubstantiated piece of garbage in order to inflate?

Not exactly, but they are currently successfully doing business in Kosovo.

This painting is being shown to EVERY Hungarian pupil in history class:

That painting shows exodus of Serbs from Kosovo to Hungary as the Turks and Albanians chased them out.

This is the original source:

Or do you think, towns of Ráckeve and Szentendre were founded by Ratko Mladic?

Given that Hungarians aren't close allies of Serbs - this information should be regarded as 100% impartial.

And how about Fujitsu, HP? Who is your WDC or Seagate distributor in the area?

Ataman

Exactly, you have just made a good point. Provinces don't have Presidents and thus Kosovo can't be a province.
(Ian, UK, 27 June 2010 21:18)

Than what it is? A country? BTW: ever been there? Because even at the moment you cross that... so-called "border" you see, it's not a country. And if you cross into that sorry place from the north, than you just scratch your head.

As one ethnic Albanian resident of Prizren told me:

- "Our country is the most democratic place on Earth!"
- (me with puzzled look and somewhat unsure facial expression)
- "Yes, yes, it is. It's so democratic, we don't even know who rules it".

That tells all, I think. As in soccer Germans say: "Volltreff".

Aleks

A lot of talk about nothing.

Free movement depends on Brussels. End of.

If, for example Montenegro gets on the white list but Albania/Kosovo don't, then Montenegro cannot have free movement for Albania/Kosovo as it would contravene the white schengen rules and and they would risk their place on it.

Another pointless PR exercise.

Rather than the headline being of investment, improving transport links, interconnectivity they go with all this huff about 'free movement'.

This meeting is the equivalent of a Yorkshire pudding, puffy on the outside, empty on the inside: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Yorkshire_pudding

LOL! The summit of the century. When the European powerhouses get together to shape the future of the region. I can see it now!

Really though, KosovoUSA.. who cares about Belgrade? Your kidding yourself if Belgrade & Zagreb are not the 2 biggest fishes in the Balkan pond. This is just a meeting of a bunch of narco drug dealers who have in the past tried to break free of Belgrades grasp so they can continue with their criminal ways.

Djukanovic of Montenegro managed to do it. Thaci tried, is trying, will try again in the future.

Remember enemies, Serbs are still the biggest ethnic group in the region.. and it took the strongest alliance in the world to keep us from taking............ everything.

Your misinformation still reigns high Ron. You should read some of the documents you often try to quote.
The govt of Kosovo is legitimate according to UNSC, it was established through UNMIK sponsored elections and the positions are those laid out in the Rambouillet accords.
It is the declaring of independence that has not yet been universally accepted, maybe you should fine tune your rhetoric in the future.

DimTuc

An excellent initiative. Why are all these commenters taking aim at something positive like this, even a sensible poster like Mike. The aim is not so much to exclude serbia, but at present Serbia chooses to exclude itself. Perhaps one can understand that given its refusal to recognise Kosovo, but then why doesn't Serbia go and make its own initiative with Croatia and Bosnia and Bulgaria or whoever instead of complaining.

Four small states have done what the bigger states haven't done for a couple of decades. Top marks. Indeed, forward to a loose confederation - which would have been a saving formula for Yugoslavia itself if Milosevic, the Serbian regime and the western powers had not rejected it in 1991-92 when it was being proposed to Sloveia and Croatia, and a compromise version was proposed by Bosnia and Macedonia.

One more link for Roberto to look at -regarding that "colony" (where you got that scientifically 100% incorrect thing? Koha Ditore?)

This painting is being shown to EVERY Hungarian pupil in history class:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Serbmigra.jpg

That painting shows exodus of Serbs from Kosovo to Hungary as the Turks and Albanians chased them out.

This is the original source:

Or do you think, towns of Ráckeve and Szentendre were founded by Ratko Mladic?

Given that Hungarians aren't close allies of Serbs - this information should be regarded as 100% impartial.

Who cares for Belgrade?
(Kosova-USA, 27 June 2010 13:19)

You - because you posted that one.
(Ataman, 28 June 2010 00:28)

I didn't post anything. I read the headline , which was posted by b92 and made a coment. I thank b92 for posting my coment. A man holding 2-3 citizenships should not worry to much about Belgrade and Prishtina, since your niether Serbian or Albanian. At least I was born in Kosova/o and grew up in states.

Belgrade was yesterday, today its Prishtina. 300 Slovenian companies can't be wrong.
(Pejoni, 27 June 2010 22:43)

Hey mate; there aren’t 300 companies in the entire Slovenia. You have to be joking; Pristina the economic centre for the Balkans – you have been living too long in the US.

"Serbia chooses to exclude itself. Perhaps one can understand that given its refusal to recognise Kosovo, but then why doesn't Serbia go and make its own initiative with Croatia and Bosnia and Bulgaria or whoever instead of complaining."

They don't have to. They already have everything they need.
Only thing missing is EU membership but that is no so important when you have everything else.

Slovenia has 300 companies in Kosovo?
(Peggy, 28 June 2010 04:24)

Not exactly, but they are currently successfully doing business in Kosovo.

Then why did you mention 300 then? Trying to inflate?

Actually I did look at the article. Unbeliveable isn't it?
Do you usually fall for something as obvious as this or it's just convenient to use an unsubstantiated piece of garbage in order to inflate?

Ouch, somehow someone misplaced this. The proper place is here:

Quite a summit: Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo. Together these countries barely even match the GDP of Croatia alone, or Serbia alone, or Bulgaria alone. So what kind of a regional summit was it?

Since 1999 when became free and later independent!
