Mr. Feith is wrong!

It appears there may never be new negociations on the status! It´s not because of Thachi, but because of Haradinaj whose relentless watchdog type of presure has a great impact on Kosovo´s political life. 72% of Kosovars would vote for him if the elections were held today. If he wins in the near future, there may never be negociation and I doubt Serbs would want to negociate with him as well. So, in my view the Status Quo will be around for another 30 years.

“Local elections represent a step forward in setting the basis for a multiethnic society in Kosovo,” this official noted.

Blah, blah, blah...multi-ethnic, multi-ethnic, multi-ethnic...just because you wish really really hard for something doesnt mean it's actually going to come true. The chance of a truly multi-ethnic society in Kosovo where ALL peoples are treated with respect and dignity is about the same as having a multi-ethnic society on Mars.

"Talking heads (i.e. politicians) constantly spinning their BS for the sheeple of the world and that includes the poor deluded souls in my country as well. The only thing any person can expect from any politician is a knife in the back as they pick your pocket.

What surprises me is that none of the Serbian MP's dared to ask Feith, given the poor results, whether he still thinks he can govern
Kosovo better than Serbia could and whether his presence would help the "dialogue" or not?

Feith is reaching for straws if the only thing he can talk about in the way of multiethnic co-existence is the establishment of some local government in Gnjilane. Interesting how the north remains off his radar beyond some weak comments on corruption and no rule of law blah blah blah. Interesting how he didn't report on EULEX's supposed raid of Albanian government offices. Is Limaj still siphoning off the top? Interesting also how he somehow forgets the chronic unrest in Zac, or the repeated attempts at eliminating electrical and telephone services to Serbian enclaves.

It's good that "standards" are once again being preached before "status". While I have little doubt any report from CoE will be nothing more than a bunch of eurocrats expressing something vague with little implementation, I can only hope any recommendations for moving forward serve as a benchmark for compromise once negotiations reopen after the ICJ.

Of course this is what I would *like*. Knowing that people like Wordsworth and Dell are already digging in their heels and sticking their heads in the ground, I doubt little will change.

"Reflecting on the northern, predominantly Serb part of Kosovo, which rejects the authority of Priština, Feith stated that this region was characterized by “difficult living conditions, widespread corruption and bad economic situation”, and added that the “people living in this part of Kosovo deserve a better perspective”."

Funny! As if those things would be something only affecting the north! It's Kosovo!
