Fewer road accidents in 2010

The number of traffic accidents in Serbia has decreased by one third compared to the same period last year, say official numbers.

The government can still do more. In particular, good road design can make quite a difference, but does require proactive input from politicians to support it.

Also, a culture of courtesy on the roads would be a big contributor to saving the lives and reducing the number of injuries.

The days of the big-headed mafiosi charging through the traffic should be over (pathetic behaviour anyway).

Boy-racers require police to stop them and talk them out of their foolishness. There are too many 56 year old boy-racers in Serbia - it isn't just the youngsters!

Good driving is safe driving. Good driving is certainly not zippy and inconsiderate.

The death toll is still far too high. This is a good improvement, but there is still a way to go to improve the culture of safe driving.
