There is a difference between "fugitives from justice" and "freedom fighters" who try to fight off enemies that try to destroy an entire people's peaceful religion, culture, language, freedom, and nation. It is no secret that the USA and NATO want a Kosovo without Serbs and that is why they bombed the Serbs for 78 days. Well USA and NATO, the Serbs can survive any attack you all can throw at them and as you(USA/NATO) get more and more involved in nations which you have really no business interfering with, dictating to,and physically bullying, sooner or later nations of the world will see the USA and NATO as imperalist and totalitarian and part of a conquering empire.

"so it looks like it is up to us: that eclectic collection of human rights advocates, families of victims from the wars and genocides, anyone around the world who actually cares about justice. we have to put pressure on the right officials, to guilt trip, if necessary, the appropriate heavy-hitters... to continue our efforts over the past decade but with an added vigor. we cannot, dare not give up.

and we must enlist global allies, bloggers, journalists of conscience, even (especially)inside serbia itself. start, REstart, reinvigorate a campaign. i am open to all serious suggestions.

You are open to all serious suggestions? I have one for you then -- how about campaigning to bring those in your US government responsible for genocide (aka collateral damage) in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan? It is so easy to preach a long sermon isn't it? How about backing it up with genuine, concrete and IMPARTIAL action?

...“The arrests of fugitives Mladić and Hadžić remain the Prosecution's main priority. Since my last report, the operative services of Serbia have continued their efforts in the search for the fugitives,” he said, adding that the Prosecution “believes that the current operative strategy of Serbia must be reevaluated.”

He stressed that he “recently asked the Serbian government to increase efforts in the search by expanding the investigation, increasing search operations, and increasing their operative capacities."

“A decisive and stronger action of the operative services and political leaders is of key importance for achieving the arrests of the two fugitives,” Brammertz said... >

this game can and will be continued indefinitely. what is the point? is there a point? actually, as i've patiently explained here (and elsewhere) on numerous occasions, brammertz and his ilk -- ie representatives of the intl community (so called) have become an integral part of this noxious game.

in fact, they end up co-facilitating it: "you must arrest Mladic..." "oh, we are trying, look..." "you must try harder..." "oh, we will, and look, here's his journals..." "you must try..." that can go on for decades. as a matter of fact, it has, at least, since 1995 and all the "fun" at srebrenica.

which leads us to ask: do any of these parties really want to see him arrested? my feeling is that most in the west could care less, one way or another (w/ some exceptions in the netherlands). i don't buy all of the ubiquitous conspiracy theories, always so popular in the balkans, esp.ly serbia. that some officials in the west (like holbrooke) are "terrified" that mladic will actually show up and testify... they are just shaking in their boots. Bull!

actually, they all could care less -- that's the problem, in a nutshell.

as for the blgd regime, so-called pro-west, pro democratic -- they could care less as well. why should they go to any trouble. risk anything, anyone, any popularity points in the home ranks? w/their fans in the diaspora? no matter what they do, no matter how little, how transparently fake and inadequate, the intl communiy ALways offers a nod and a wink. in fact the blgd regime is fully aware of those special services operatives who directly continue to hide this fugitive, this mass murderer. and in that, they have become accessories to his crimes. that really needs to be addressed.

so it looks like it is up to us: that eclectic collection of human rights advocates, families of victims from the wars and genocides, anyone around the world who actually cares about justice. we have to put pressure on the right officials, to guilt trip, if necessary, the appropriate heavy-hitters... to continue our efforts over the past decade but with an added vigor. we cannot, dare not give up.

as for brammertz, it is time for him to go. he is part of the problem, by now, not the solution. i'm sure he can find another position with his "impressive" resume.

thank you, and let's go people!
