The problem is Lenard is that if every Bosnian citizen wanted to live together in some democratic rule of law society and it was the Serb fascists like Dodik and Tadic preventing this than fair enough.
But internally they don't.There is no unity. There is no common view of a state. There is no trust. There is no real future. This Bosnia you talk about existed in a greater form in Yugoslavia and that was destroyed internally and externally.
The West didn't insist as they do Bosnia on saving it.They gave the Croats independence , Slovenia ,Macedonia, and they gave statehood to Bosnia which was a mini yugoslavia. You can rail about the Serbs but you can't get them to believe in a country nor have any affinity with this if they don't want it.Get rid of Dodik?I am sure the West would love to do that .Get someone pliant in? Scrap Dayton the entities? But at the end there is no unity and you can't create it.The Croats equally have no loyality to this state.
Yugoslavia was a multi cultural society which collapsed. It collapsed in 1941 lack a pack of cards and led to 4 years of bloody reacial conflict. It was brutally kept together under Broz and when his dictatorship died it started to fragment. Why didn't they(The West) keep it together like they seem to want to with Bosnia?
Lenard the truth is that states with no internal unity cannot be..Look at history.Look at Yugoslavia.
