What real international community do you mean ? There is no international community without US, G.Britain,France and other major european countrys. We all know who rules the world.

Or you meant some international community in Asia in the forrest or somthing maybee ?

Can I just point out a fundemental truth that sheds a slightly different light on that statement please. When you say UK, what you should understand is that the UK government may have given support but that was done without any kind of consultation or referendum of the UK public. I for one absolutely would have voted against recognition had I been given the opportunity. I suspect a great many others in the UK and the other countries would have too, had they been given the opportunity. So the actual recognitions are, in fact, only made by a handful of politicians who have no mandate from their voters. And as we all know, politicians invariably have an alterior motive for most of what they do.

These are the member states:

"Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America."

As we can see, except for the USA (and Turkey, partially), all are European countries. That's what they have in common, and not being NATO members.

Maybe Zoran wants to have Somalia or the glorious Kingdom of Swaziland included? We all know how important these countries are (well, some politicians in Kosovo think so, at least) ;-)

Zoran you are correct, it’s basically a group of NATO countries trying to look as if they are impartial and call themselves an international steering committee. Although there will be nice lunches with drinks and a tour of Kosovo on a fact finding mission, they are there to rubber stamp US ambitions (note that it’s no longer decisions because it cannot enforce them – many thanks to Afghanistan and Iraq). In fact Serbs should celebrate the day the west invaded these counties.

However, no matter how much they try Kosovo is not moving forward and that’s what hurts the most. The Albanians have been promised the moon and so far have not even received the crumbs off the table. As the financial crises further engulfs the EU, and it will, the west will find it more difficult to maintain even the already reduced level of spending and further cuts are on the way.

No Zoran I am correct. It is international because it involves more than one country. You just have to look in your average dictionary for that one. It isn't required to have countries from all continents to be considered international; to be considered international all that is required is that two or more countries are involved.

Zoran

No Ian, I am correct. It is more accurately a NATO group than it is an International group.

How can it be international when it doesn't contain a single country from Asia, Africa, Australasia and South America? So 24 European countries + USA now make something international?

Those few countries you mentioned are members of NATO PfP. So Ian (aka Mustafa), you are wrong (and I won't even use capitals).

Ian, UK

This should be more accurately called the NATO Steering Group as the real international community overwhelmingly support Serbia.
(Zoran, 14 June 2010 11:17)

Well Austria, Finland, Ireland, Sweden and Switzerland are not NATO members and are part of the International Steering Group. Also Spain, Slovakia, Romania and Greece are NATO members and are not part of the International Steering Group.

So basically what I am trying to saying is that YOU'RE WRONG!

Zoran

The ISG is made up of diplomats from 25 countries that have recognized the unilateral proclamation of independence.
