(szemi, 13 June 2010 14:30)

Nah, that wasn't a parody or at least it wasn't intent to be. Rather a frustration because I expect people at least learn things or express some willingness to learn.

And than that story with baloney-mortadella, not sure it was appropriate to call the Serbian victims like that...even if the case is under investigation and could be wrong, still it's a disgrace.

Than who calls "yellow house" to be a baloney-mortadella should not wonder to be received with little enthusiasm.

We've repeated this demand often enough -- Thaci must be arrested and sent to the hague, or all negotiations w/ kosovo need to be frozen.

for the pristina regime(s) this has been one pathetic and cynical game of strategy -- how little can we get away with and still plug forward; how much can we lie and deceive and still pretend to be pro west and democratic?

the west has facilitated this game by responding ambiguously (on this particular point these other posters are correct) and playing into the hands of the pristina authorities, and this has been a terrible mistake -- of ours.

the demand for justice ag. the war criminals has always been more talk than action -- thus we got access to many of the biggest fish (sharks): oric, the generals, the politicians (some) like Çeku and Haradinaj who planned out the genocide in despicable detail. but as for all of the actual rapists, torturers, snipers, etc, most continue to walk the streets with impunity, speaking of impunity. we have heard this so often from former victims inside Serbia as it relates to various cities in "Kosova" (Drenica area is just one of many), but nobody ever discusses this and local authorities choose to remain complacent -- or worse -- to this ugly post-war reality. and that's supposed to lead to truth and reconciliation?!

If kosovo chooses to offer shelter and comfort to the worst mass murderer since ww2 (which is as evil as it gets if you think about who were the heavy hitters of that era) then there need to be specific consequences, and an honest and tough judgment from people of conscience around the world. and thanks to Serbiana for its contribution and consistent struggle for justice around the world.

no more excuses fr the pr regime. and no more delays in the exhumation of the latest mass grave of serbs, right in yr own backyard!

thank you.

I spoke to a bunch of brussels based romanian expats recently and they told me something very interesting about the recent elections in romania. All of them said that they disliked Basescu and would vote for the opposition, but they ultimately didn't as they would loose their xpat perks and privilidges that they get from Basecu's government. If that is not vote buying, then I don't know what is.

As for HRW, they are irrelevant as they are an American 'NGO' and just as irrelevant as US gov. press releases on who they think should join the EU.

It looks like the troika strategy on Serbia will be a 'go slow' policy. What isn't clear is that if Mladic kicks the bucket (we know he has kidney and other problems), would they still insist on Hadzic (the famous 'serb' with the moslem name) being handed over?

Serbia has nothing to loose from going slow either. If Brussels wants to punish the government, then their best ally Tadic will be out at the next elections. Problem solved.

This sham of an organisation can put all demands that it feels necessary but teh EU is desperate are all will be swept aside to keep Tadic in power so it off to teh EU without Mladic, who is propbaly enjoying coffe in a Belgrade restuarant.

Yes allegedly 7000 died at Srebrenica. But I don't see why Serbia is responsible or should be held accountable. HRW should do something useful like arrest Mladic rather parrot the same old sentiment I for one am tired of hearing it.

“I think …” was the most surprising confession in your post ! Congratulations ! Who could imagine ! I personally was afraid you were an out of work spam machine. But your 10 years planning looks too optimistic cause after Romania and Bulgaria EU is too reluctant for further enlargement. So they put new and new conditions. Now they ask for Ratko’s blood but in any case they will keep on crying for the Moon just to keep Serbs on a short rope.

US and Afghanistan completely different. Collateral damage happen, collecting 7000 men and boys then murdering them is not collateral damage thats a war crime plain and simple

For Serbia there is no alternative to the EU.

I think that Serbia will obtain EU candidate status in December 2012.

Serbia will probably begin accession negotiations in 2013 which will take 7 years to complete.

Serbia will join the EU in 2020.

Long live the European Union!

I don't get to read about HRW condemning American and Nato's reckless air bombings in Afghanistan that had caused countless deaths and sufferings (aka collateral damage). One can see the blatant hypocrisy and double standards in HEW's pro-West agenda!

If you read B92 long enough, its obvious EU is inconsistent about whether Mladic's arrest is or isn't a precondition for EU membership. Now that the EU is headed for collapse, the important thing is to pay lip-service to the EU until KiM is secure. Its not the 90s or 2000s anymore. We have better options.
