Sorry brother but just like your name you need to look to the future and look at the past as something that should and could never be again. Jugoslavia is gone.
(Mikael C, 11 June 2010 21:33)

Mikael,

Jugoslavija will never die, as long as it remains in our hearts. Nobody will ever kill it.

Jugoslavija was the union of south slavs, one nation, only differentiated by religion. The Serbs, Croats and Slovenes through petty nationalism destroyed a nation who was the envy of the Southeastern peninsula.

The economic union of Jugoslavija should be the future platfrom of the Serbian political parties and the Jugoslav dream will live again. The future is Jugoslavija!

“Ausis and Ghan are easy, but the full stop will come with Germany.
Anyway, good luck.
(Kosova-USA, 11 June 2010 12:34)”

Ah, true to form. It would have been more courteous to just wish us good luck and stop there but as always, you turn it into negative sentiment. It does not matter to you that Germany is a weaker squad than they were when they were easily defeated by the Croats a few cups ago, and that the Serbian squad is red-hot, stocked full of international stars, and arguably a stronger team then that same Croat team. I remember a Croat poster (Victor?) was talking smack about Dokovic as well a few years ago and that he stood no chance against Federer in the Canadian Open but that he wished him luck. Oh please. But guess what? Dokovic manhandled him easily. I suspect you care little for soccer and aren’t even aware of the rosters of the respective teams. Rest assured though, Serbia has gone much farther in this tournament than Albania has or ever will, and that “Kosova” will never field a team EVER! As long as you remain a separatist, your supposed olive branches will always be rightfully viewed with suspicion.

"Our team has traveled from Johannesburg to Pretoria, where the game takes place, and did their last training before the start of the campaign. The tension is rising, and it’s more than a coincidence that Belgrade is currently the WARMEST capital in Europe. It should be a really fiery afternoon, indeed."

"Every Olympic opening ceremony, they either do that when Serbia walks into the stadium or cut to a commercial. In this game, the us would have to face Serbia on an equal footing.
(JohnBoy, 11 June 2010 17:56"

You are exactly right! I can confirm that this has happened during every winter and summer game broadcast on NBC since 1990! Avoid American broadcasting at all costs if you can.

To the fellow complaining about bringing politics in sport, johnBoy has merely stated the obvious and that the status quo needs to change. It is necessary to speak out against such chauvinism now just as it was fine to condemn the munich massacre and other outrages where politics unfortunately merged with sport.

Sometimes it is not appropriate to be a bleeding heart liberal, love everyone all the time, regardless of the circumstances.

There is nothing more in the world that unites people than football, most of the world problems could be sorted with football, good look Serbs but you know its Enland's year (AGAIN HAHA)

I will be looking out for Serbia as one of your players Nenad Milijas plays for my team Wolves.

So all get your flags out and have a few beers and join in the African spirit of the games...

It's here finally! I plan to watch many many games, and I love Toronto during these kinds of competitions, since it is so multicultural here and all the flags come out. I am wearing my White Eagles official shirt to work today, and am ready to go!!
Ajmo Beli Orlovi!!

Come on Dragan admit it, it is not the same without the Plavi :)

What do us Yugoslavs do? I know.. I'll put on my Partizan shirt, grab a beer from the fridge and invite over my Albanian neighbour.

RE; The Robbery of Football

Need it be reminded that FIFA did get involved in politics and banned Yugoslavia from playing in previous European and World Cups.

What they did is not allow the world to probably see the Yugoslav players at the prime of their careers;

Savijevic
Mihailovic
Jugovic
Mijatovic

as well as Stolkovic who still could play.

John why you politicize a sporting event. There is no need for this. And Serbia has a great chance to go far and a better team then USA but let it be as sports.

I wish all the best to Serbia srecno na turenu I will watch in stadium against Germany and cheer for you.

The goal is to win group D, play and eliminate the united states from the tournament. I want to see this game on television and hear those inane, american commentators mention politics and the past while Serbia desroys their team. Every Olympic opening ceremony, they either do that when Serbia walks into the stadium or cut to a commercial. In this game, the us would have to face Serbia on an equal footing.

I agree that it was about time Africa got to host these games. I'm happy for the african people who have endured so much hardship and it's a joy to see all the happy faces and the pride in the South African people. I know they will be great hosts and the best of luck to them.

Serbia has a great team but all the teams are good and nothing should be taken for granted.
I hope Serbia won't play the brits since they are my favorites to win the world championship. We'll see! Anyway, good luck!

Kosovo-USA

Well, for once we can put our differences aside about Kosovo and balkan politics and toghether enjoy this great party with all the people of the world.

Cheers to all soccer lovers!

I agree, Mikael C. I don't like football much, but the World Cup I love. It's a real festival which even footie amateurs like me can enjoy with the diversity and different styles of play.

I am really happy that South Africa are hosting, and hope that they will get lots of new facilities and inspired footballers of the future!

I wonder if Serbia will get to play England at any point - bit of a long shot!

Mikael C

What a joy to see Serbia compeat at the World Championships in South Africa. They have a great team and I think and hope they will go far this time. Radomir has done a great job and the best of luck to him and his squad. Regardless of the result the most important thing is that Serbia managed to qualify for this party. Serbia is once again the envy of the Balkans. Watching these championships will be a pleasure.
