"Serbia did not lose the war, Milosevic signed UN Resolution 1244 which was to guarantee the territorial integrity of Kosovo."

...and which installed an international control body (UNMIK) in the whole province, demanded a complete pull out of Serbian army, and even a security zone around Kosovo which Serbian solders are not allowed to enter. What a victory, indeed!

I support Serbia over Kosovo - but do not excuse the behaviour and poor politics of Milosevic. If Milosevic had been a better politician Serbia would not have been bombed. Basically he dragged Serbia through the mud quite needlessly.

Any pride in surviving the bombing should be rather dented given the terrible behaviours that nationalists and criminals did in the name of Serbia. I am glad they are well weakened and hope that there are never enough of them to try to repeat their failures in the future.

Where do you get this is false information?? Serbia conquered Kosovo back from the Ottomans in 1912 and kosovo was made part of Serbia by the treaty of Bucharest, the reason: a majority Serbs lived there!! and yes a Albanian minority!! that is also why Albania dint became part of Serbia in 1912 because Serbs where there a minority! and Albanians a majority!
But on the first line You are right "occupation never last long" and That's why we will see kosovo back as part of Serbia in the near future.

What I ment to say was the nickname you use at B92. Can't imagine its the first time you are here since I don't recognize your name. Of course its not a prerequisite and I appologize for the missunderstanding.

And I'm not ashamed that Serbia lost the war against NATO. We fought well. We made a mockery of the worlds mightiest military organization. No other country would have lasted 75 days of relentless bombardment on a small and poor country from the most powerful military the world has ever seen. Look at the kosovo albanians, the muslims and croats. All whining to the West when push comes to shove. Serbia stood up for what it believed in and that I'm proud of.

RE: Lost the war.

Serbia did not lose the war, Milosevic signed UN Resolution 1244 which was to guarantee the territorial integrity of Kosovo.

What Serbia lost was the agreement; NATO lost the war outright and the NATO membership did not want to risk sending troops to a bloodbath against a highly mobile organized Serb military which was trained for large scale invasions.

NATO on the other hand is guilty of gross crimes on humanity for targeting civilians Serbs and Albanians alike. It is clear to anyone that the Serb military was barely touched in Kosovo.

In six months you will read an article stating 3 years since Kosovo became independent by separating from Serbia.

It's just another article, can you people stop fighting for one moment and actually contribute to a discussion? Now I hear there are rumors on the Internets (lol), how about that resolution 1244 or those 6 points?

Hi Mikael, I did not know that providing your real name was a prerequisite for posting a comment here at b92, but if you do not like that please refer to b92 staff to change the prerequisites.
The bottom line is that Serbia (i.e Yugoslavia at that time) lost the war. You can spin the story every which way you want to if that's what makes happy or helps you feel better about your country.

First of all why don't you use your real name? Those Nato troops that would have invaded our country would not have returned home.
Actually the UCK served as ground troops. However, since they were too busy hiding in the woods I guess they wouldn't count as real combatants.
Thanks to the cowardly attacks from 10.000 meters Nato also killed scores of albanians.

PRN..based on you assumption, what goes up must come down, your occupation of Kosovo will end soon enough, and Serbia will be there when you fall.

Serbia has embarrassed NATO for a long time to come. Irak and Afganistan continues to embarress them.

good spin Mikael, i have to give you that...but have you considered this: you are the only country that has lost a war where the conflicting party did not use any ground troops.

This can be assest a great Serbian victory ONLY for extremely HONEST and PRAGMATIC Serbs such as Cedo, Kandic, Biserko etc, because it marked the final end occupation and reduction of costs ....the end of payrol for Serbian police and military to patrol Kosovo.

Occupation never last too long. Serbian occupation took 87 yrs before decaying totally.

"Listening to Tanjug and Serbs you would think it was NATO that lost the war."
Bekim

In the short term NATO won but in the long run they lost. They managed to get the Serb army to leave Kosovo. However, since Serbia will never recognize the theft of Serbian land and since the Serbian army was intact they will live to fight another day.

The mightiest military organization bombed Serbia for over 70 days. They became desperate so they bombed civilian targets and the civilian population. Serbia has embarrassed NATO for a long time to come. Irak and Afganistan continues to embarress them.

Wrong! It was Yugoslav Army and NATO representatives.

Despite the fact that Kosovo took the brunt of the two and a half months of air-strikes, the Yugoslav Army managed to extract most of its manpower and equipment from the province.

Listening to Tanjug and Serbs you would think it was NATO that lost the war.
