Bibi for President of Serbia!

Israel should ditch Netanyahu, etc, win back some of the moral high ground and start looking for solutions rather than fresh conflict. There's nothing I'd like better than to support them unequivocally against the like of Hamas, but that simply isn't possible at present.

Let's face it: peace is good, but at one point that goodness can be preserved by some really bad-ass guys. From that point of view, the medal of "biggest peacenik" should decorate the chests of best Mossad-guys. Kudos to them, keep the good work and may someone like Bibi become the president of Serbia one day.

and what if there are weapons, or materials that can make weapons, amongst the aid, Ian? Do you not feel that Israel has the right to defend itself from a sworn enemy? So typical of posters here that only see one side.

There are some posters, so-called peaceniks, who are nothing more than blind, inconditional supporters of those radical islamists. That is the reason why these peaceniks can't influence their own governments. There are like the fifth column of those radical islamists and states like Turkey/Iran.

The disproportionate violence used against the activists (and they were activists) has played right into Iran's hands. They wanted escalation and now they'll get it, at a time when much of the world is repelled by Israel's stridently unrepentant position. Israel should ditch Netanyahu, etc, win back some of the moral high ground and start looking for solutions rather than fresh conflict. There's nothing I'd like better than to support them unequivocally against the like of Hamas, but that simply isn't possible at present.

Both Erdogan and Ahmadinejad have continued arousing passions in their countries with their rhetoric against Israel thus uping the stakes and aiming towards the leadership of the islamic
world.

Yes. "Helping the poor in Gaza" is just a propoganga slogan. Nobody would be against apolitical, humanitarian help.
This Turkish/Iranian bellicosity is not just against Israel. It is against the whole West. While the NATO was needed during the Cold War it appears that it will be needed in the future against agressive Turkey/Iran. For some time now Turkey is just a nominal member of NATO, only on paper and how long? Hopefully it will be expulsed.

While I support some relief from the blockade and detest the violent actions of Israel last week, Iran is the last country who should be getting involved. That's like playing with matches around the gasoline pumps.....

Although both Iran and Turkey
are huge countries with huge armies and resources a confrontation against israel will be a step too far which i dont think either Erdogan or Ahmadinejad will be willing to take.

On the other hand, world events do not unfold in an orderly manner and we may still witness enormous changes in the world order.
