No one in the EU wants to see new status negotiations?

Mr. Woodsworth? Spain isn't a part of the EU?

I'm sure Cyprus, Greece, Romania, will agree with us as well that you are under estimating our position.

Maybe you should look closer at the further deterioration of GB. :)

US is going to be a little busy in Asia and middle east.

You just might be a part of a compromise. :)

I say good day to you sir.

UK is saying that nobody in the EU wants new negotiations.
Does that mean that the rebelious five are about change their mind? No, they are not so he is obviously saying something he himself cannot believe in.

GB has spoken so the earth has to tremble.

Get off your high horse and start to see that majority of the world is against you.

Mark - There are no separatists movements in GB like Kosovo in Serbia. If you are referring to Scotland for example, then it's a poor comparison because Scotland used to be a sovereign nation in it's own right before unifying with England. Can you tell me when in history the nation of "Kosovo/a" existed? You might argue that it has always been Albanian land, but that is a different argument. There has never been a Kosovo/a until recently.

Your other example - Turkey. you shot yourself in the foot with this as well. The Kurds are 25% of Turkey's population, yet they are denied schooling in Kurdish, denied the right to Kurdish identity, denied the right to even discuss independence in Turkey. Whatever you may claim, Albanians had a lot of rights in the former Yugoslavia, much more than the Kurds in Turkey. Are you going to campaign for Kurds rights to independence from Turkey? No? I didn't think so. Would the US or EU "allow" Kurdish independence? No. but why not? Geopolitics. kosovo wasn't/isn't about a people's right to self determination, it's about creating a "new country" as part of the US's strategic plans - nothing more.

So get off your high horse because any objective observer can see kosovo for what it really is - a tinpot province, with a temporary tinpot administratiohn saying "Yes sir, no sir" to it's masters wishes - the US.

Of course the status will not change, it will remain as is"Independent Kosova/o". I think Spain is coming to its sense.
(Kosova-USA, 7 June 2010 14:40)

FYI: Kosovo is still a Serbian province ruled by UN! I, as a non-Serb, can live with that?

Hey, Tibet has nothing. The Kurds have nothing. So being ruled by UN is not that bad?

Are you happy? I am. I a state (not a province)!

“I am not certain whether the status of Kosovo will be changed in future,

You are right Mr.Espana. The hierarchy of countries who call the shots of what happens in those parts of the world considered to be under western influence is: US,GB,France,Germany. It is a short list. Regarding Kosovo issue Spain has shown only one thing. It has been blackmailed by Serbia. GB, Turkey and other countries have problems with separatist movements also, but unlike Spain they can solve their problems without equaling themselves to milosevician Serbia.

Mr. Espana
You said you believe Serbia will countinue its integration in EU with no precondition. The same was believed by some of our diaspora serb patriots who were duped to that level where they started to refer to Kosovo as prison camp. Serbia is destined to the same reference according to UK ambassador.

Radoslav

The reality is that the US and others, declare that Kosovo is independent but also quote UNSC 1244. The only way the status will be solved is when the ICJ rule on the matter, advisory or not. If they rule ni Serbia's favour, the US will have lost it's one and noly legal argument for the justification of it's recognition - "pending a final settlement" (from UNSC1244). It's a pity they didn't seem to read the rest of the document "A political process towards the establishment of an interim political framework agreement providing for a substantial self-government for Kosovo, taking full account of the Rambouillet accords and the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia". That last bit is very interesting. kosovo's status is FAR from settled. Albanians might like to dream that it is,but if the ICJ rules in Serbia's favour then it'll just start the clock ticking, counting down to a discussion of it's status. It'll be out of your hands at that point - the US will be telling you what you can or can't do - just like it does now.

Toke take off the mask for a moment. I say that the people of Kosovo are not happy and that things are not getting any better.

And in some respects things will get worse - I expect that opposition will grow to the internationals. The ironic thing will be that if the internationals continue to persue the corruption issue they will win back a bit of public trust from the people. However, Kosovo Albanian politicians / families that are prosecuted will begin to unite and support getting rid of international authorities in Kosovo.

Economically Serbia will continue to hinder investment in Kosovo.

There is absolutely nothing to feel smug about for anybody. Instead of bravado its time to be thinking of how to speed up development of Serbia and Kosovo.

As for the comment from Spain, I am in agreement - there needs to be a sensible negotiation between leaders of Serbia and Kosovo.

In the end that is the only way forward. All conflicts of the type have eventually ended up at the negotiating table. The alternative is a low grade conflict that hurts both sides.

One might argue who it hurts more, but it is a fact that this strong disagreement over status hurts us both.

"He added that at the same time, an agreement between Belgrade and Priština (Kosovo Albanian authorities) should be reached in future.

“I am not certain whether the status of Kosovo will be changed in future, and Belgrade and Priština are to decide what kind of future they would like to have, while many issues need to be addressed in the field,” Espana stated. "

Better recognise the reality ;)
