Israel rejects calls for international probe

Of course they are rejecting any type of international investigation. Israel is one of the most uncooperative nations in the world. They won't even acknowledge they have nuclear capabilities, will not let an international team inspect for same and take land that is not theirs. While I detest Hamas terrorist activities against Israel, Israel makes it very easy to be hated by Arab nations.

The well known israeli arrogance as always.

I see some negative votes, but no written opinions. I would very much like to see why some 4 people disagree.

From my viewpoint it is important to make difference between real aims and those for public. The Gaza Flotilla is a model example of successful PR action to gain political aims. Already now it is possible to size up the Islamist manoeuvre as tactical success. The question from the very beginning was not the humanitarian aid, if it were then the sponsors of the flotilla would have worked with Israel and Egypt to bring in the aid by land after a requested inspection of the goods.

The Foundation for Human Rights, Liberties and Humanitarian Relief (IHH) played a central role in organizing the flotilla to the Gaza Strip, is a Turkish humanitarian relief fund with a radical Islamic anti-Western orientation. Earlier the Turkish investigators concluded this "charity" was sending jihadists to Bosnia, Chechnya and Afghanistan. Now it has strong sympathy among Turkey's ruling party. Their charity work is described as "a type of cover-up" to infiltrate mujahideen into combat, get forged documents and smuggle weapons.
