Wrong news. actually Pacolli reported his wealth but he asked from Agency not to make it PUBLIC, he said anyone who needs to know it Justice, people etc can go and ask in Agency itself! He is Billionaire but he is hardworking businessman for decades, not like these thieves millionaire within one year in politics!

"kosovo is starting doing this job. '' war against corruption'' how about the countries in the region.??"
(Naim, 3 June 2010 19:04)

You mean EULEX is doing this job, and is often critizized for it by Thaci when some of his buddys in certain ministries get unannounced visits by EULEX prosecutors?

This is only what they have in their banks in Kosova, what about in foreign banks?, what about the cash money?.
Bexhet Pacolli goes around the world lobbying for recognitions spending his own money. He's well known successful businessman.

It's important to mention that whatever comes into Kosova from Serbia and Macedonia it is controlled by Thaci, and whatever comes from Albania and Montenegro it is controlled by Haradianj.
When Haradinaj declares his property he must tell people about his apartment building in Dubai UAE.

I think that both of these politicians should be dumped and never be seen in public.

I'd like to see the income of other regional leaders/politicians.

Kosovo taxpayers is an oxymoron, like Jumbo Shrimp.

90% of the income trickling into Kosovo is from outside contributions, not from the 70% internally umemployed. You need to have people working in legitimate business in order to have a legitimate tax base..duuuhhhhh.

Unfortunatley, heroin and human trafficing does not meet fall into the category of a legitimate tax base society.

I read all of the reports that politicians did, and to be honest I was stuned. How on earth did they make all those money with the pay the have? No way you could save 365,000 Euros for the years if you have 17,000 euros pay a year, that just can't be, but Hashim Thaci did it.
He and others are filthy thieves who are taking taxpayer's moeny. I hope justice will be served and they get what they deserve. Shame on them and most of all shame on us who are voting for them and not doing anything to protest these criminals.
Same thing goes for Fatmir Limaj and Ahmet Shala, they have too damn much compare tot their salary.
Stop corruption in Kosovo!

"I disappointed that many of them earn that much money when the average salary in Kosovo is 200 euro. They should show solidarity and decrease their wages. ..."
(A, 3 June 2010 14:58)

If the average salary in Kosovo is really $200, $1500/month for the "prime minister" isn't that much.

Reducing the wages will increase the corruption and criminal/illegal activities amongst the Kosovo politicians even more.

EA

Some people here want to see a poor Albanian President/Prime Minister/Parlamentary Speaker and so one....so the people here can accuse them of "easy to be corrupted".

Naim

important is that they have declared they wealth so that investigation will start now, any miss courage they will be fired and will be replaced. corruption is not tolerated, kosovo is starting doing this job. '' war against corruption'' how about the countries in the region.??

Aaah, the aroma of embezzlement. These guys would make great kleptocrats in New Jersey, where mayors own multimillion dollar yachts and take weekend vacations (4 day vacations mind you) in the Riviera.

Nice to know our tax dollars are hard at work. Daddy needs a new pair of everything.

This article lists the earnings of all Balkan politicians:

http://www.balkaninsight.com/en/main/news/12872/

Fatmir Sejdiu - €3400
Trajan Basescu - €2500
Bamir Topi - €2100
Boris Tadic - €1900
Filip Bujanovic - €1300
Branko Crvenkovski - €1200

"According to the World Bank, Kosovo’s GDP per capita is less than €1500 while the estimated average salary of a public servant is some €200."

Wow, poor Fatmir Sejdiu really suffers. He earns just a little more than EU member Romania's president.

Isn't it ironic though that Albania and Kosovo, two of Europe's poorest countries, have the highest earning presidents? I wonder what could be done to level it out a little more. Hmmm.

Its a good initiative, to publish those reports. And the annual wages of the Kosovo politicians might look high for Kosovo standards, but only for that.

So, having annual salary of €17,300, you can ask yourself how Thaci made/makes all the money (€220k on the bank account) and the money needed for building a new littly fancy 700 sqm villa :-)

Berat,

Not just in Balkans but across the world. Some world leaders are billionares!.

In wester europe and US they are more sophisticated at corrupting and stealing whereas in Balkans it is very obvious and crude.

All the officials have declared their assets, only some advisors have not done it, but they will have do it.

Much of the wealth that is reported is inherited from their parents and the values are flawed. Mots of them own land in Drenica and they are reporting their ha's are worth hundreds of thousands. No one today pays in Kosovo that much money for land in Drenica, always the most undeveloped part of Kosovo.

I disappointed that many of them earn that much money when the average salary in Kosovo is 200 euro. They should show solidarity and decrease their wages.

What is most disgusting is that head of Kosovo Pension Savings Trust is earning 50 000 Euro a year. Gues who hired him? UNMIK. To earn so much should be illegal in Kosovo.

Thaci earns 17000 euro a year but has 225 000 in the bank, 15 years worth and thats not spending a cent.

This is only what they declared and it would appear that the system is voluntary.

Goodness knows how much is owned by wives and family of these politicians.

Considering the way many people have to live in Kosovo, it makes you wonder whether the Kosovo elite are in touch with ordinary people.
