So much anti Tito comments on B92. People seriously need an education.
Any one who lived in Yugoslavia would say that life there was so much better then now in modern Serbia.

Tito was not a Serb hater or a murderer. All a criminal but a good man who believed in racial equality. He gave all Yugoslavs a good life and little work with good pay. The Yugo wars were caused by anti titoists

Why would anybody visit this dictators grave. He killed, toturerd and expelled millions from the so called YU between 1945-80. Everyone suffered, even his belovered supporters (i.e Rankovic - Djilas )learnt very quickley that he was good for nothing always thinking of himself than the people. Who in this world gives themselves the title" President For Life' Only Tito could do such a thing. By giving himself that title he had no faith in anybody else. The current Balkan Wars occured because of Tito's failed policies. Croats were expelled, Muslims were known as "others' for a long time, serbs lost their autonomous regions. Do I have to mention 'Goli Otok' must I go on. Croats and Serbs who look to the past are called Ustase-Cetnik fascists but those who look back to Tito's past are accepted by mainstream media=Double standards. Those that suffered and still continue to suffer from the evils of the YU regime will never forget.

Fair post Dim Tuc.
As I've said before personally my family lost a lot under Tito.

But if I look around to see how many families lost under Milosevic, Tudjman, Izetbegovic and company our repression, loss of land and loss of some family members was less than what followed.

And when one compares the good times under Tito (particularly from mid 60s to 1980) nothing that the above leaders could come up with even came close.

I think the reign of Tito requires a balanced approach and comparison with what went on before and after.

Having said this there is also a fair argument that Tito unwittingly made it easier for this bitter war to follow with these idiotic nationalistic leaders.

History will judge Tito and the others in the historical context, not through the prism of emotional national(istic) interest.

You condemn Tito to hell, yet during his regn, for all its faults, Yugoslavia was one country where you Serbs, along with Croats, Albanians, everyone else, could travel to anywhere within Yugoslavia without a visa, could work anywhere, could marry anyone, and by and large you prospered - you serbs certainly prospered a lot more than the K Albanians did.

And what did you geta fter Tito died and people with your hate-filled ideology came to power around 1987? A country destroyed as yoru mob abolished the constitution, suppressed Kosovo, armed thugs to take over chunks of other republics as pure "Serb" statelets via ethnic cleansing of the undesirable nationals there, Serbia and the rest of the region in ruins, divided, feeling sorry for themselves, "losing" what you think is "your" southern province, plenty of reverse ethnic cleansing in Croatia and Kosovo after you had devastated and cleansed them first.

Great job guys. Tito should be as open to criticism as anyone else, but in the circumstances, and given what followed, I say "bring back Tito."

The only good thing you can say about Tito is "it could have been worse".. he might have been a full blown Stalinist if history went a bit differently. That's it for the positives. The rest is a farce that turned deadly.

What happened during those days was just a smokescreen to mask failure and when the smoke lifted in the late 80s, the Serbs reaped the bitter fruit. We believed it all and paid the price.

What sort of a communist was he anyway with all those women, villas and ridiculous uniforms? Broz lived the life of a hedonist not a communist. To me he was some sort of bizzare cross between Hugh Hefner, Benito Mussolini and Ferdinand Marcos with a hefty sprinkle of Joseph Stalin.

If he was alive today he would be lampooned mercilessly by cartoonists and ultimately wind up in prison for theft and corruption.

People who celebrate his legacy in glowing terms need a reality check.

I will visit Kuca cveca this summer and honor Broz's memory with a basket of rotten fruit symbolizing the rot and rancidness underlying his despotic rule. No one person did so much damage to the Serbian people in the former Yugoslavia, and the Serbs are still reeling from his actions to this day. Thanks for nothing, druze.
