No need to thank me as I only support you sometimes, not always.

Believe it or not I do agree with quite a few of your posts. You only get to hear about the ones I don't.

So why is Albania in NATO? Albania is one of the poorest countries in Europe (much more than Serbia) and they don't even have an army (no aircraft, tanks etc.) yet they by some miracle got into NATO. It should be a walk in the park for Serbia in comparison (that is, if they want to).

It will happen just like in Croatia. The top 3 politicians said that it did not have to go to a vote and they knew better then the citizens wallah they voted Croatia in to Nat-co.

Tadic and co can even be involved in discussions on how to recognise the independence of Kosovo, but the problem would be to sell that idea to the populace. The same applies to NATO membership – don’t forget that they cannot join until the population is on side regardless of what is people say. I would even go as far as say the person that sells this idea to Serbs will become wealthy beyond their wildest dreams. So far I have not seen any Serbian politician that comes even close to that mark.

“he would do his best in order for Serbia to join NATO, talking the approach of one step at a time, as the Serbian side requested” – It will take many years before the events of 1999 are forgiven by the Serbian people. If you want to see what happens to a leader that ignores the populace then read up on Alexander 1 of Serbia.

This is not the first time that a NATO high official is urging Serbia to join the Alliance, claiming that it is Serbia that (allegedly) requested it,” Petković said and added that “secret negotiations on the NATO's entering Serbia through the back door were under way”.

But Mr. Petkovic, NATO has already busted down the front door so why should they come in the back door.

bganon

pre 13 godina

Zoran the defence minister does not create government policy.

Look for example at Kenneth Clare and Tory former chancellor and current Justice Minister and Lord Chancellor. He would join the Euro given the chance, but it won't happen.

As far as Kostunica's statement goes the fact that he said it in Mitrovica is the most unconvincing part, apart from the fact that these 'secret' talks are evidently not a secret, if they exist at all.

By the way, don't you think its a bit sad that my stalker is ignoring your posts? He must not realise that it looks inconsistent when one post is marked down in the tens and another marked up in the tens and yet a post in between with the same view as his is completely ignored!

That means regardless of whether individuals support NATO membership or not, it won't happen. They are the minority in the government and in the country.

We are talking about the defence minister here. That's not something to shrug off. He is working towards joining NATO as much as possible regardless of the opposition. So there is every reason to be concerned. Kostunica is right to highlight that position.

bganon

Let me repeat Zoran, as you didn't appear to get it the first time - I am saying that no Serbian government would not committ political suicide by joining NATO.

That means regardless of whether individuals support NATO membership or not, it won't happen. They are the minority in the government and in the country.

'Why is Serbia opening an office in NATO headquarters?' I don't know, so we can get a heads up on what they intend to do next???

Why has Russia opened a NATO office in Moscow?

The only way they could sneak Serbia into HATO without government overthrow is during a World Cup victory celebration. Unfortunately, the Serb side is not good enough to win it all.

Be ready for more banditry with more votes than people.

THose Serbs have already made their voice heared in bigger crowds in the Kosovo election.

Another FAILED ATTEMPT by a FAILED POLITICIAN to keep himself afloat by spreading paranoia. Mark my words: Kostunica is a self-destructive, neurotic opportunist, a GROSS MISCALCULATOR. Anyone who supports the most divisive figure in post-SFRJ is toxic. I cant stand him.

Are you saying our defence minister (SutNATOvac), appointed to that position by Tadic, would not like to see Serbia in NATO?

We can see it happen in small steps and many of us have exactly those suspicions. Why is Serbia opening an office in NATO headquarters? Again, in the "How to boil a frog" anecdote, everything is done in small increments.

This government was constructed and paid for by the west so it's not a surprise they are following an agenda as set by them.

"deep unpopularity "
has not prevented the otporistas like the one below and their US. puppet regime from doing what they where bought & paid for, heck, they would sell their own mother for less.

Mr.Koštunica is right, the regime is "creating facts on the ground" for tricking us into the western aggression pact. Tadic and Saakaswahili, Otpor and Kmara, "deeply unpopular" anyone?

bganon

pre 13 godina

Its clear that any government that tried to bring Serbia into NATO would face deep unpopularity and probably lose power for doing so.
In other words it would not happen.

For that reason Kostunica's statement can only be another attempt to prevent DSS from collapsing completely.
