Here's a new headline for next week:
Transmitters have been removed, telephones don't work

Don't you understand? All of their problems are Serbia's fault. Why do you think they are so obsessed with us?
(Zoran, 24 May 2010 18:31)

They certainly are obsessed with Serbia. What do you expect? Skenderbeg's mum was Serbian.

You can easily point of the diasporas around here by how they overestimate the power and authority of an entity unable to provide basic necessities for its own citizens. The greater the hyperbole, the further removed (both physically and mentally) they are from the region.
(Mike, 24 May 2010 18:42)

If the likes of RKS and PRN are not from the region, then what does that make 'roberto' from 'frisco'?

In another galaxy? :)

Looks like I've relied up a lot of people from the Serb Camp...the same people who said that KP officers WOULD NEVER answer to Pristina, the same people who said EULEX would NEVER be able to take control of the courthouse, etc etc.

Thaci's government and Telecommunication Regulatory Agency have made it clear that no one will be allowed to operate without a license. FULL STOP.

@MIKE....really? Wow!

"Don't you have bigger problems?" (trudsaam)

-- For Albanians that actually live in Kosovo, yes they do have much bigger problems. For Albanians living in Kosovo, issues of what cell phone company Serbs use and what happens in Leposavic, Zvecan, Zubin Potok, Gracanica and Strpce are of little to no interest to them because they have their own problems that Pristina is unable or unwilling to address.

But Albanians who post on this site, like RKS, are for the most part diaspora nationalists who can write what they write from the comfort of a Western European or North American country. That's why they spend such inordinate amounts of time fixated on controlling the lives of others - they're frustrated with what they see as a clear sign of socio-political impotence from an Albanian political center that is incompatible with their conception of statehood. RKS's comments have all the hallmarks of a diaspora nationalist who can only talk big but do little. And he's fully aware of the poverty of his boasts.

You can easily point of the diasporas around here by how they overestimate the power and authority of an entity unable to provide basic necessities for its own citizens. The greater the hyperbole, the further removed (both physically and mentally) they are from the region.

You're kidding me right? Of course it's going to work, we're going to cut those illegal towers again and again. It takes TRA maybe 3 hours to bring down 20 towers, it takes these criminals about two weeks to get them going again.

We can do this dance all day.

'Albanians in Serbia use Serb operators'

Albanians in Serbia, like Serbs are being denied the opportunity to use Serbian providers. Likewise Albanians in Serbia proper have no access to Albanian providers.

Look, it just depends on your perspective on whether Kosovo is inside Serbia or not. Its got nothing to do with having an operator run by your ethnic group. If that was the case then how come a Norweigan company has a large market share in Serbia?

Anyway, remember that the customer will always go to the cheaper provider.

"Every action has a reaction, Bentler told reporters, explaining that the attacks on the antennas of Kosovo carriers in the north were caused by RAT when it acted against Serbian operators."

-- Which basically means to me that while "status" may now seemingly trump "standards" in Kosovo-UNMIK, "stability" still trumps "status".

So everytime Pristina tries to throw around its "status", KFOR ensures it doesn't upset "stability".

karlsDad

RKS, you may be dancing all day, but it will be to a different tune. RAT acts under the instructions of Pristina, and Pristina acts under the instructions of Eulex. Who do you think will win in the end?

Please do not speak for ALL of us PRN, we do not ALL KNOW or AGREE with what you say. Speak for yourself, please. Anyway, “It is not right to carry out disconnections at 5 a.m.,” Bentler said, according to reports, adding that RAT should have had more sense and avoided causing violence. He is 100% correct. This RAT authority (appropriate acronym), under instruction from Pristina, acted in a very thug-like fashion, but what is one to expect from, well, thugs. In my opinion, Thaci and the RATs will be warned not cause more problems in KiM with more unilateral actions. Thugs will be thugs, and until they are removed in Pristina, the Albanians in Kosovo are going nowhere.

"The question is whether the Serbian government has the will or the money to ensure that Kosovo Serbs have a Serbian telekom provider.
(bganon"

Albanians in Serbia use Serb operators, Serb in Kosovo use Kosovar providers.

Do you think that the Serbs from amsterdam till vienna use serb providers?
Or maybe you dont want normal Serbs to go down south and use the same network? Or is it that you want to discriminate against Kosovars by not letting them on the same provider for moving north?

Either or, the Serbs know exactly well that what they are doing is completly illegal and hypocritic.

So what if the same crowd that bombed the UN peacekeeper raises up in their usual fashion?
Kosovo is not Serbia to fall victim to ethnic nationalist football hooligans.
If you want legality, only the illegals will complain.
Well done you phony "Kosovo Minister" lol

PRN,

Look at the facts. The transmitters were back up and running after the K-Albanians tried to take them down last time. And from what Bentler says, don't expect KFOR back up when there are problems with your plans this time. Last time, you caught the Serbian population by surprise. This time, you gave them notice. I'm sure they are working backup plans now.

Whether the removal of transmitters will occur or not is one thing.

Whether it will work or not is another matter. All of us that use the internet / technology know that there is always a technological solution to problems like these. On the other hand there is the old fashioned manpower protection of transmitters.

The question is whether the Serbian government has the will or the money to ensure that Kosovo Serbs have a Serbian telekom provider.
