This is Europe, it is very true. No wonder the so called western europe is a copy of what is now known as the "troubled neighborhood" of europe, the balkans because such things happened here, in the Balkans, before they could happen there, Western Europe. The Serbs are the only ones who are capable of dealing with these violent-animals. The Serbs have succeeded in the past, present and will succeed in the future. The fate of Europe is once again in Serbia's hands.

This incident needs to be remembered for some while into the future, I fear. The warnings were there during the Balkan war. As we are already discovering, Kosovo as a State is still immature and naive and lacking virtually everything that is required to sort this type of problem out should it prove, as some of us predict it will, to be far greater already than might be known. Nevertheless, praise does have to be offered to the authorities for his find.

UNSCR 1244 is still active but you have to remember that it is only for some countries such as Serbia. There are already 69 countries who have recognized Kosovo as a state, compared to Taiwan 23 which to many people might not look quiet independent for China it is still not considered part of it. Why is this? Because it is U.S. who has committed to protecting it in case it is attacked. Serbia is not China neither is Kosovo Taiwan, but that is simply to say that Kosovo is not part of Serbia anymore, and this is the consideration given by even the EU members who haven't recognized it while some recognize its passports or have participated in the EULEX mission.

The bottom line, for Albanians it is historically, politically, culturally and morally impossible to accept Belgrade as the capital of our nation. Why? Very simple, because we are not the same and we are not less than you to be subordinate to your rule. One might call Kosovo whatever he pleases but someone who understand politics or is a realist by that matter is more cautious to predict that Kosovo will be under Belgrades governance anymore. That is the difference between an opinion and argument.

Serbs have a different take on religion and I respect that, and you should respect the others'.

If Orthodoxy is central to your identity, for Albanians religion is at best immaterial.

Even the Alb code of Kanun, 1000 yrs ago describes a society deeply and utterly secular, while the church was in the center of the universe for every other society in Europe.

But in fact you act as if you don't understand. Albanism is simply the worship of our own culture, custums, tradition, morals, ethics and history, which exist and is worshiped in spite and independent of christ or mohamed.

Albanins have their own moral, ethics and norms, and apparently they don't need a christ or a mohamed to do what's right.

It is this simple.

As an Albanian that comes from a muslim family, I say hang them. I would personally vote for every measure that eradicates islam from Albanian lands.

If you think about it, Albanianism is as arbitrary as your orthodoxy (some 20-25% of Alb in fact are orthodox). What holds your religious belief to a higher standard? Nothing really, just your self-conviction. A system of morals, traditions, rituals and ethics exist in Albanism as much as in your orthodoxy. The difference is that we are more self conscious and passionate about Albanian system of values, than the religious ones (christian or islamic).

So yes, Albanism is a severe form of national extremism, as much as Orthodoxy is such for Serbs.

In any case, these extremist jihadist are without a doubt a bunch of cockroaches who obviously have no respect for the Albanism and act complitely against our self-interest. I would personally show no mercy at them.

Let me remind you that when the Slavs arrived in the Balkans they had not yet discovered Christianity. They gradually adopted it as their religion after being exposed to it by the Albanians. In fact, the Serbs, like the Russians, only recently celebrated 1000 years of being Christians. As you may know, Saint Paul traveled through Albania in the first century A. D. It is known that he proselytized in the ancient city of Dyrrachium, now called Durres, hence, indicating that the Albanians/Illyrians were among the first to adopt Christianity on the Balkan Peninsula.

Serbs have a different take on religion and I respect that, and you should respect the others'.

If Orthodoxy is central to your identity, for Albanians religion is at best immaterial.

Even the Alb code of Kanun, 1000 yrs ago describes a society deeply and utterly secular, while the church was in the center of the universe for every other society in Europe.

But in fact you act as if you don't understand. Albanism is simply the worship of our own culture, custums, tradition, morals, ethics and history, which exist and is worshiped in spite and independent of christ or mohamed.

Albanins have their own moral, ethics and norms, and apparently they don't need a christ or a mohamed to do what's right.

It is this simple.

As an Albanian that comes from a muslim family, I say hang them. I would personally vote for every measure that eradicates islam from Albanian lands.

Dear Peggy,

First of all, I am happy that you are facinated, as well you should be.
Second, to be clear, Albanianism is not a religion per se and neither is it new. I think Alproud pretty much summed it up rather well in one of his comments earlier in this discussion. It is a concept that Serbs and Greeks have difficulty understanding. The concept predates Islam and probably Christianity as well. Let me remind you that when the Slavs arrived in the Balkans they had not yet discovered Christianity. They gradually adopted it as their religion after being exposed to it by the Albanians. In fact, the Serbs, like the Russians, only recently celebrated 1000 years of being Christians. As you may know, Saint Paul traveled through Albania in the first century A. D. It is known that he proselytized in the ancient city of Dyrrachium, now called Durres, hence, indicating that the Albanians/Illyrians were among the first to adopt Christianity on the Balkan Peninsula.

So "Albanism" is kind of a severe form of national extremism, totally outside of religious aspects?

If you think about it, Albanianism is as arbitrary as your orthodoxy (some 20-25% of Alb in fact are orthodox). What holds your religious belief to a higher standard? Nothing really, just your self-conviction. A system of morals, traditions, rituals and ethics exist in Albanism as much as in your orthodoxy. The difference is that we are more self conscious and passionate about Albanian system of values, than the religious ones (christian or islamic).

So yes, Albanism is a severe form of national extremism, as much as Orthodoxy is such for Serbs.

In any case, these extremist jihadist are without a doubt a bunch of cockroaches who obviously have no respect for the Albanism and act complitely against our self-interest. I would personally show no mercy at them.

Albanians generally speaking have never been a people of faith, if we were a people with religious beliefs like the greeks we would not have converted to islam when the ottomans came. This tells me that Albanians converted to islam so they could gain an edge within the foreign occupiers to better their chances for Albanian survival. Now in 2011 Albania will conduct a sensus were the citizens declare their ethincity and religion, Am 100% sure that islam will no longer be the dominant religion in Albania because the faith of Albanians is Albanianism.

can´t believe that so many Albanians are even proud of calling their own not being a faithful nation, except "Albanianism" ...what is actually only a quite stupid designation for "nationalism".

well, let them believe in "Albanianism", or even into "Jediism" if it fits better to their illusions of "force" ..humm.., oh, POWER of course... =)

it won´t help them anyway, Serbia will prevail, it´s only a question of time.

Don't get me wrong. I am not trying to be smart here but it seems to me that you are people who don't have a religion you actually believe in, because you are ready to change any time if it suits your agenda.

In that case, please stop saying how so many of you are Christian for Christianity obviously doesn't mean much to you.
You appealed to the Islamic Council but Islam doesn't mean that much to you either. It seems you will use religion whenever it suits you.
No wonder most of the world is suspicious of your intentions and will not back you up in your dream of another Albanian country.
