For the one who said that nobody complained when the Albanians were also cut off when Serbs didn't pay, I say, rubbish. It was only the Serbs who got cut off. Show me some evidence of Albanians being cut off as well if they paid the bills.
(Peggy, 21 May 2010 00:05)

My mother lives in Shilovo, Gjilan. When the electricity was cut because my Serb neighbors didn't pay, my family had no electricity either. And for the record, yes I paid my electricity in full. I support my family as I live abroad. Would you like my power meter numbers, too? Is that proof enough for you?

"This is no justice system as I don't see any courts getting involved, however your lame attempts to paint it as some sort of ethnic issue comes short. When everyone is treated the same it is not an ethnic issue. Sure its an issue of inefficiency but an ethnic one it is not. As for not recalling when Albanians got cut because Serbs didn't pay, there is a solution for that too. Start getting your information from non-Serb media as well. Hearing more than one side of the story would be a good start.
(johny, 21 May 2010 18:03) "

Well, ironically you are right there -- there appears to be no justice system at all in "Kosova"!

And I am glad you admitted that your electricity company is inefficient, intentionally or otherwise.

If you think B92 does not report news correctly, then why are you wasting your time on this site? Better still, why not enlighten all of us by showing us reports on the same subject from those media sources that you claimed to be mroe accurate? Talk is easy, showing us proof is something else.

johny

Yes everyone got cut -- those who paid (Serbs) and those who didn't (Albanians). This is your justice system -- equal misery for all, the guilty as well as the innocent.

Anyway that just goes to show how inefficient your electricity company is.

As for your other point about nobody complaining when Albanians' supply got cut, well, you show us the report on that and we will see. I don't recall any recently.

You got that backwards. Serbs paid their bills. It's the Albanians who didn't.

Any excuse to punish the Serbs. If I pay my bill but my neighbour doesn't he will have the electricity cut off not me. That's how it works in the west. How come they can't target individual houses in Kosovo?

You don't get what you don't pay. What does this has to do with ethnicity...plus as far as i know it is possible to cut the energy to only those who don't pay. Also, i thought serbs didn't reckognise KEK, so not to be obliged to pay, also Serbia owes to KEK about 2 or 3 billion euros for the last ten years.

Let's be balanced here. When the Serb villages electricity was cut last year for having 10 years worth of unpaid bills there were also many Albanian households that had no electricity as a result. Not a single person mentioned those Albanians that had no electricity because Serbs have not paid their bills. Now 20 Serb families have no electricity because KEK quite rightly cut off 600-800 Albanian households’ electricity it is such a big deal. Why everything that happens to Serbs in Kosova has to be politicized? Oh I know. It is Belgrade's new approach to the Kosova situation where Vuk Jeremic himself said just before Christmas last year that Serbia's new strategy is going to be focused the situation of Serbs in Kosova and how they are "suffering". Now everything is blown out of proportion just to show that Serbs in Kosova are the victims. The same policy that Republic of Serbia that created Slobodan Millosevic as a result applied towards Kosova's population by inventing non existent problems during the end of 80's and followed until the end of 90's which ended in the most horrible war in years. Serbia needs to change their war initiating and hatred policies towards Albanians. There is no problem in or with Kosova it is simply Serbian academics and the politicians who hate Albanians and that is all that is, which is a shame as forever we are going to be neighbours that have to interact with each other. By heating each other we are going to make our own and our children's lives miserable.

ParTy Time

pre 13 godina

As the electricity supply chain is quite old, they cannot precisely descriminate between the payers and the free riders. That's the biggest problem. One could think of just cutting the house or the apartment that didn't pay but this is unfortunately not possible.

Even though it is a shame, that's the only situation where albanians and serbs are equal in treatment.

Well, yes, equal in treatment, but the preconditions are different: Some pay, some don't.

Maybe it's the Kosovarian way of improvement to the previous situations when no one payed the bills and only Serbs (but not Albanians) were cut off from electricity?

So, should this encourage Serbs to pay their bills or not?

Well, ironically you are right there -- there appears to be no justice system at all in "Kosova"!

And I am glad you admitted that your electricity company is inefficient, intentionally or otherwise.

If you think B92 does not report news correctly, then why are you wasting your time on this site? Better still, why not enlighten all of us by showing us reports on the same subject from those media sources that you claimed to be mroe accurate? Talk is easy, showing us proof is something else.

For the one who said that nobody complained when the Albanians were also cut off when Serbs didn't pay, I say, rubbish. It was only the Serbs who got cut off. Show me some evidence of Albanians being cut off as well if they paid the bills.
