We didn't want the EU for anything other than economic reasons. For that Turkey is an asset to the EU. Its the central European political elites fault for imposing things like Schengen and political integration which nobody wants, and its because of that Turkey would be a disaster, which is why I guess Sarkozy had the sense to attempt to offer 'priveleged partnership'.

As for Bosnia I can't believe the Tories would be stupid enough to insist on a unitary Bosnia since no country has done that yet.

What's the justification for a special envoy for Bosnia? The British establishment really like to 'Lord' it over people makes them feel important.

EU is a Christian club, but except for those protestant and partly protestant I don't see much difference between Catholic, Orthodox and Muslim countries.

Wearing a cross does not make a Serb much different than a Turk. Same Eastern preference of emotions before logic, myths before reality and refusal to own their past mistakes and crimes.

A lot of Tories in the UK only want a bigger EU as a bigger EU is 'less deep', less powerful then a smaller EU.

On Turkey: in my opinion Turkey should not join EU!

Accepting Turkey into the EU will be the end of that organization as we know it. This is a Christian continent and it should remain that way. We all remember the horrors the last time the Turks came to Europe.

Sure, why not also include Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Azerbaijan?

Why stop there? Perhaps we can extend it to Somalia, Iran, Afghanistan and Sudan too. Pakistan after we have swallowed that mass, then Nigeria and maybe Indonesia.

Come on, people, Turkey is not Europe! They are a muslim country in the Middle East. What do they have to do with Europe other than destroying whatever part of it got in their path when they invaded it?

Doesn't Europe have enough muslims in it to content with and appease without bringing nearly 80 million more? And what happens when they outbreed Germany?

What a joke!

The Germans are soon to abandon the € and re-install the mark, possibly abandoning the €USSR itself which will disintegrate as a result of the German loss.

Everybody is saving their own *sses and the serbian puppet regime should stop sitting on their hands, waiting for something that never will happen.

Turks and Balkans! Croatia is in because they're Catholic, the rest are considered Ottomans. Greece will soon be chased out and join the Neo-Ottoman empire.
