But you do have a great job already, why the sudden change?

Extra money never hurts. I am doing Albanian-Shqip-Arvanite translations, too.

Zeka - No, you are incorrect. I don't make the assumption that the state and economy are one and the same.

But you have to be a fool to not realise that the state and the economy are inextricably linked.

What do you think will be the consequences of all the debt that the govt/the state, is taking on board? You think it won't impact the private sector? Maybe you learnt "economics" in a Mao communist university in China or a Stalinist university in Russia!

If Serbia keeps piling on the debt, ultimately investors won't lend Serbia any more money and that will push up interest rates in Serbia - so you think that won't hurt private business in Serbia?

Then Serbia will more than likely have watch as the dinar is savagely devalued - you think this won't affect the private sector?

Whichever way you look at it, the govt borrowing so much money, DOES have consequences for the private sector in Serbia. So you've either misinterpreted what I wrote, or you don't understand basic economics.

In a nutshell: Huge govt borrowing = huge pain for the PRIVATE sector in the future.

Now do you understand my original point?

serbia doesn´t need EU-accession, they can do it on their own. All they need is free travel ! EU means: the last state-owned company will be sold , the last squaremeter of the country will be under mortgage, as each coin will be under debt.

Just like it is happening with Greece, the Germans are practically "buying" greece for nothing right now...

and anyways: why join something that bombed the shit out of you under false accusation, just to rip each piece out of you... uh, reminds me on the "yellow house" thats how we should call EU...

Where was Kosovo ? Ahh, sorry. Of course, they were represented by their PM Mirko Cvetkovic. Sorry for that.

Staff,

Apparently, your gov't is keeping you in the dark, Kosova was present at the conference, however, Serb politicians tried to save face by pretending the Kosovars weren't present. Pretend all you want, but reality is starring you in the face. Sorry for that!

If we are going to play the wishful pretend game then...Of course, Kosovo was represented by it's PM Sali Berisha. Sorry for that.

Rado-you mistake the state for the economy. Manufacturing for export is crucial for Serbia's development, along with transportation and agriculture.

Mr Cvetkovic (and all other politicians in the Balkans) please wake up and if you already have then stop lying to your electorate. The devloped world, i.e. The US, Europe and Japan are in financial dire straits. If you think they are going to shower you, or any other country in the region, with capital or investment then you are either stupid or have your head in the ground like an ostrich. They have enough problems of their own to feed the vampire economies in the Balkans.

You're on your own, so start adjusting your economy accordingly. For once Serbian politicians should get off their fat public funded backsides and do some real work in trying to get the economy and living standards improving. Endlessly borrowing money from Europe, the IMF, Russia and China will only end one way - in tears. Serbia has the same problem as most of Europe - too much debt and no real economy to speak of. it's about time you told people the truth about the real situation Serbia is facing!

"Kosor is expected to give Cvetković translations of documents necessary for EU accession. "

Were they translated from Croatian to Serbian? I am really a beginner in these languages but I could take that job. How to apply?

Serbia should completely forget about joining the EU as there will be no further enlargement for the next ten or twenty years, if ever. I live in a country (Ireland) that is in the EU, in the Eurozone and in a deep recession. The talk in this part of the world (Western Europe) is of the collapse of the Euro in the not too distant future and the possible collapse of the EU itself. If the EU survives the last thing it needs is another batch of relatively poor countries. Germany is now trying to bail out Greece and soon it may find that Portugal, Ireland, Spain etc may also need billions. The German people are annoyed by all this and will inevitably shout "Stop!". Basically the future is very uncertain and further enlargement is completely off the agenda. If the Greek bail-out fails then the trouble will spread and in the end there will be no EU for Serbia to join.
