"...and no negotiations after ICJ. There is nothing to talk about a settled topic. 68 countries (3 more than a month ago) agree already and more prepare to follow. End of the story.

It is only a settled topic if both sides agree that it is so. Otherwise "Kosova" will remain inside limbo and outside the UN.

"MikeC, the fact that Serbs can travel with TOURIST Visas to Western Europe doesn't change the fact that only a tiny proportion can afford to do so.

well, the Albanians certainly have their own way to get around this probem -- they either smuggle themselves into the EU or seek asylum (see for example, http://www.b92.net/eng/news/society-article.php?yyyy=2010&mm=05&dd=05&nav_id=66933 ).

Liht said that Serbia needs to participate in conferences such as the coming regional summit in Sarajevo in order to avoid isolation, “which it has already experienced”.

OPSSSS...
There are bright Serbs that are realising that the time is ripe to end ISOLATION and living ghetto.
Serbia needs to participate in meetings to avoid ISOLATION “which it has already experienced”.

Perhaps Ms. Lift heard me saying Serbia must act boldly to avoid ISOLATION in the future.

What isolation are speaking of? Can you please answer this with zero-emotional rebuddle and in a logical manner?

Serbia is demonstrating everyday how she is not isolated. Serbia has created an immense amount of allies during this time of calamity. Something that your Kosovo leaders are unable to do, concidering that their position doesn't exist in the global front.

Kosovo is becoming a deep hole in Europe that the Serbo-albs have dug for themselves. You are being exploited in every way, especially by your "friends" the west... Since you choose to act as you have been, the result will not be in your favor. What prospect investments does Kosovo hold? What is your legal constitution? (in which most of the World refuses to recognize)... What kind of leadership are your leaders demonstrating, while your people are suffering day-by-day because of isolation resulting from they're actions...

Open your eyes and you will see that your "state" is nothing but a prison camp runned by internationals. Your stance has no choice in that matter; Either you are governed by the West or recognize Belgrade as your governement. Which ever one you choose you must realise it is all DEPENDANCY, not INDEPENDANCE. Being independant is being self-reliant and diplomatic with neighbours. Your institution is none of the above, so what is left?

Beograd I say !!!

MikeC, the fact that Serbs can travel with TOURIST Visas to Western Europe doesn't change the fact that only a tiny proportion can afford to do so. The economic agony in which Serbia is currently makes it effectively not different than before, because those who had money could also prove that at the German, Italian, etc. embassy that they can afford to stay and cover costs. For the rest of the 90% in Serbia, Europe remains a dream and not affordable, just as before the visa liberalization and just as currently Albanians have to face it.

Mike C,

We all agree that Albania and Kosovo are way behind Serbia and the region, but they are catching up.
However, I need to bring to your attention something when you read this. Look into the right of this site. there is a column and at its top it reads Corruption and Organized Crime. Below that there are four more chapters that reflect where Serbia is and its recent history.
Compare that to any country in EU including Romania you'll see there is not much to be proud of your achievements, either.

"BELGRADE -- President of the Foreign Ministry’s Policy Council, Sonja Liht, said that there would be no talks between Belgrade and Priština before the ICJ decision."

Really? So what is this then?

""Tadić's cabinet told Beta news agency in Belgrade on Friday that Serbia wants to negotiate the status of Kosovo, and supports negotiations with Priština regarding technical questions, but that a country's president should not head such talks.

The cabinet also reminded of the fact "there were talks about the implementation of the six-point plan".""

"Regarding the criticism of the opposition that Belgrade is indirectly recognizing Kosovo independence by participating in the Sarajevo conference along with Kosovo Albaniana officials from Priština, Liht said that they would be accompanied by UNMIK representatives, and that the participants in the conference would not be represented by the country name".

I can imagine Vuks speech: I am honoured to participate in this conference as equal with all the fellow pigs, but than there are some pigs more equal than others.
It will be a shining example to regional stability and class.

It looks like they called Serbia's bluff. For years now you've had the Serbs acting like they're begging to talk; and when such talks are offered what does Serbia do? Refuse them. Lets just say that no matter how much or how hard you try, you will not be able to outsmart the West, simply because in one way or another they have been ruling most of the globe for centuries now, Serbia included. You see, those who proposed such talks now did it to show that really Serbia is indeed interested in keeping a frozen conflict. You have been unmasked by the masters of diplomacy.

Yes PRN, Ms. Liht most definitely reads your comments every chance she gets, as do all other Serbian politicians. Keep up the good work. Anyway, take a look at the financial markets today, and what the world's economist are saying and predicting for the EU and the Euro zone. I think I hear a tick, tick, tick, tock.

Gee PRN, and all this time I thought Kosovo and Albania were isolated since you don't enjoy the white schengen, investments etc.
Why don't your read what your countrymen have to say about albanian isolation:

“We Albanians are tired of feeling cut off from the world”
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/24/world/europe/24iht-albania.html

Here are some more articles about "prosperous Albania".
