That's the first sensible thing you've said so far.

Without recognition from Serbia you will not get into any organisation worthy of anything. That means, no investments. How do you plan to get revenue?
Who is going to invest?
How long before charity runs out?

Can't you see you have nothing without Serbia? Eventually you will all come to your senses even if it takes another generation.

Peteko: "New negotiations are pointless. The Kosovars would never agree to go back to Serbia and the Serbs would never agree to let them go independent.

"It would be an eternal boring status quo situation."

- Do you really believe things are that easy? Kosovo is still legally part of Serbia, and many UN and EU members have not recognised the UDI. Plus the advisory opinion of the ICJ will have a major impact.

And what of the Serbian and other communities living in Kosovo? What you're suggesting is just 'accept annexation of your territory so we can all move on'.

That is massively over-simplistic, and I don't know which country you're from, but I can guarantee it wouldn't accept loss of 15% of its territory that easily!

The new talks have to find a solution accepted by all so everyone can move forward. Nobody expects 'Kosovars' (by which I suppose you mean Kosovo Albanians) to live under Serbian authority or Serbia to accept the loss of her legally held territory.

That's why there have to be negotiations.

It would be an eternal boring status quo situation.

Of course Jeremic and Tadic love status quo. It keeps them in power.

Smart young man-albanians would do anything to provoke conflicts as they proved in the last couple of weeks.
Their predictability is their demise.

"Vuke, did you hear about:

- The denial of the Slovak government recently regarding "special plans"?

- The comments of Veton Surroi?

- The report in Blic today?

You lie to your people. The only question remains how you and the rest of your government is going to explain the inevitable and undeniably, soon. Or do you plane for that period a stay at the beaches of Jamaica?
(John, 5 May 2010 11:51) "

-- The Slovak government denied both the special plans AND any intention to recognize "Kosova" -- so what is your point?

-- Veton Surroi, an Albanian politician/publicist according to Google .... what did he say that was so earthshaking that all Serbians are supposed to tremble with dread before this mighty Albanian?

-- you mean the report in Blic about US desperation to repeal 1244? What can they do about it apart from wringing their hands in despair? They are not the only ones with the veto in the UNSC.

Excellent, Vuk. He is exactly right and Serbia is within their legal rights to demand that UN Resolution is adhered to. If they veer off the track and accept off piste negotiations, they will no longer have the protection afforded to them by the UN Resolution, unless the talks are within the framework of 1244.

Vuk speaking,....bla, bla...
Is anyone heeding..???

Simply NONE.

Based on 1244 Kosovo is now totally independent and does not need to ask Serbia to become independent, just as any other country in the world. Serbia became independent only because Russia UNJUSTLY made the biggest crime of the 19th century (through terror on other'peoples land) by making Serbia independent and protectorate of Moscow for several decades to come.

Justice takes time but eventually prevail. The last laugh is that counts...
