As far as the article, I believe Serbia will be allowed to join the membership as long as it does not veto Kosovo's membership. Do you really think EU wants another CYPRUS?
Think about it.

--Don't know does it? Is Serbia Cyprus? Does being the "center of the Balkans" help the controlling interests of the EU? I'd say...y-yeah, yes it does.

I would say right now Kosovo depends on the billions of support given by the "sponsors" or "donors". Another big part comes from expats who transfer money back to support their families. So, there cannot be much % left which comes from customs or taxes.

And about 10% of the budget expenses go straight into the pockets of corrupt officials and their clans, families and friend through companies owned by those persons.

Hahaha this comment I found funny. The irony is that Serbia is a basket case of a "state", in the last 5 years Serbia has received more donations & loans than Kosovo has in a century.

Who keeps funding money for Serbia to balance the deficit every month? Maybe you haven't seen the RSD / Dinar plummet from ~68 (02/03) to about ~101 ('10).

I actually don't. The messages coming from French are double tongued, the Germans and Brits are pretty much quiet, the Americans haven't said much either. What we know for sure and what they've been saying is that they don't want another Cyprus in.

Actually there have been many articles written about this and it has been stated many times that all the countries you mentioned are fully behind Serbia joining EU, and yes, without recognising Kosovo.

You choose to ignore what doesn't suit you.

Serbia must not join the EU alone, it must join at the same time as a free independent Kososvo joins. Why should Kosovo be punished for Serbia's intransigence/tvrdaglavnost?

They were sent back because the papers were forged. If they simply applied for it legally like every other citizen of Serbia, there would be no problems.

The problem is that many Serbo-albanians feel threatened by their own, and feel more frightened by their than of authorities.
(trudsaam, 1 May 2010 21:36)

wrong again. to verify what i am saying all you have to do is contact the main office in Belgrade , which issues serb passports to Kosova/o citizens. Now if you telling me that Belgrade officials are issueing fake passports, than is a different story.

Read all you want into this article but just because Serbia made it onto the White Schengen list without Kosovo, it did so without abandoning its claim to Kosovo. I’m sure that the Albanians in Kosovo will suddenly want to become part of Serbia again when Serbia makes it into the EU first while maintaining its claim to Kosovo. The argument then will be that the EU is their protector so they can “force” themselves to live with the Serbs or that the EU allowed Serbia to maintain its claim so they have to let Kosovo into the EU at the same time. We see how many of them are running to Serbia for the Serbian biometric passport so they can get visa-free travel to the EU. Kosovo isn’t a finished story. It's all cyclical.
(American Eagle, 1 May 2010 19:16)
Your name is a misnomer, you speak like someone who has never been out of the Serbian border and does not know how the world really works.
At this point only those incrediably naive or in denial truly believe that Serbia will enter the EU with Kosovo intact.

wrong my frend. No Kosova/o resident can travel without visa with serb biometric passport, as longs as its written coordination center, when passport is scaned. at least 400 fools got that passport and paid hafty money, but that passport is worthless. many never got on the plane, and the ones got on the plane t, they were returned right back on the next flight. They were simply told that they are not Srbs citizens.I sugest you check with any EU country regarding this, and it will be confirmed.

Kosovo cannot join the EU for at least 20 years and probably never will if Serbia makes it in first. There are steps that Kosovo has to take in order to start ascension talks with the member countries. With no economy, lack of recognition from five EU member states, and a big problem with corruption, Kosovo’s prospects look less than dim. All the talk of having a “European perspective” is for show. It’s a way of the EU saying that you need to straighten your quasi-country out if you even want to think about joining the EU.

I agree that serbia can join EU without recognazing Kosova/o just like it got on white shengen list without Kosova/o. That tells me that Kosova/o is not part of Serbia, like some claim to be.
I be first to say that Kosova/o should not join EU for at least 20 years, even if offer is on the table. The reason being is that; right now Kosova/o depends on Custom duties , which provide income close to 70% of its budget. If it joins the EU, it will lose most of custom duty income.
