Dear Dragan !

This is the reality we have to live in but until there are people who can tell the youth the real history we are not defeated. So don’t you worry that some of the losers still dislike us. Our two peoples were the only ones on the continent who were ready to pay any price required for the victory. We know that Serbs ( including Montenegrins ) composed 90% of the two Yugoslavian armies. And in 1941-42 we valued every partisan as a whole regiment. So I believe Serbia should have applied through the Parliament to Russia for taking part in the parade on the Red Square.

You deserve it more than anyone else cause if you consider combat losses without war against Japan then Yugoslavia becomes second after Russia. Just think about it and take your chance to tell the truth to the world. Otherwise you become a part in the Serb demonizing campaign. For 18 years they are conducting WTO membership talks with Russia and now they entrap you with the same kind EU membership discussions. I guess what is called WW2 was in some degree a civilization conflict and it explains why they behaved so different in Serbia , Poland and Russia from what we saw in the West of Europe.

It’s quality not quantity. Anyway the lead economy of the EU is there so little else matters, when you have the head the tail is useless. Maybe the US might do a parade after they win in Afghanistan, ha, ha, ha!

Haven’t you noticed that Hollywood has been working overtime producing telemovies based on WW2. Can you imagine the US was involved in Korea, Vietnam, West Indies, Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan and they cannot find one bright spot to put the Yanks in a good light so its back to WW2. Say a lot in my books about the US.

Rote,
Thank you, your comment was absolutely spot on! I find it sad that many of my fellow Serbs don't know their own history, and are very happy to get cosy with Germans and Croats (who dislike us, and will always dislike us) and do indeed behave like Europe owes them nothing after all of the sacrifice the Serbian nation has endured.
I, for one, know who are Serbia's true allies, and who have never done harm to Serbia, and have always stood behind our interests. Thank you and Ziveli!

Even more interesting Rote is why is Croatia showing up to this?

Will there be a special table at the party for former Axis states?? :)

Croatia is certainly the least reformed of that bunch.

Generally speaking, you just get the feeling Croatians will do anything to get their faces on TV and try and detract any attention Serbia might get.

Thompson concerts one day, victory parades on Red Square the next... I'm real confused.

I believe Serbia deserves much more than being just one of the guests. In 1941-42 Serbs were the only nation on the continent to fight the Nazi on our side. Yugoslavian combat losses (305 000) were third after the USSSR (13 000 000) and the USA (360 000) and Serbian chetnics and later the Communists were the first to rebel against the Germans.

So I believe we could have offered Serbia something more. Now that we recover relations with Poland and the Ukraine we still have no right to forget the huge partisan army to help us from the first till the last days of WW2. We lost only 7000 in Yugoslavia while in Hungary it was 190 000 in Poland 600 000 ect.

It was quite unfair of Stalin not to let the Yugoslavian partisans join us during the Berlin operation. And it is double unfair to guest Boris like an ordinary President. But the other side of the problem is that Serbs themself behave as if Europe owes nothing to them. Anyway here in Russia we love you and you are always welcome home !
