Unfortunately, your hero Tadic is using the proceeds from the sale of existing assets to prop up his rag tag government and the Serbian telecom is the last hurrah. Then Serbia will go through its GFC period – all of this was staved off by spending money from asset sales.

“European standards of governance and economic development” this is nothing but repetitious rhetoric used by the EU media to make people feel good. Have a good, long and hard look at the EU and tell me how these standards have helped Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia etc to underpin their economies for sustainable growth and prosperity? The test of how well these economies are going is ask yourself “how many people have moved to these countries to live and work or perhaps retire – not many.

“Dodik is in it only for the power and money” and of course the western pollies are there for the benefit of humanity, goodness and niceness. The western politicians don’t care for their constituents – are you aware that some of them refer to their constituents as “cattle” because they are dumb, can do great damage if spooked and need to be guided to the right answer.

If you think that removing Dodik is going to answer the west’s prayers then they need to think again because there are many Dodiks waiting in the wings to take over. You talk about “autocrat fiefdoms” then have a better look at the Bosniak government – one of the most corrupt in Europe. The turn your gaze at the Montenegrin Government (conveniently overlooked because it’s now western leaning).

“If Dodik were ever to follow through on his threats the Bosnian Serbs would end up like the Croatian Serbs in 95”. Who is going to do this? If NATO was as powerful as in 1999 it would have done that last year but it is a weak organisation that is BEGGING poor countries to send troops to Afghanistan. Long gone are the days of wine and roses for both the Croats and Bosniaks because they would have to attempt that on their own – I hear Mesic is still getting physically fit before he leads the Croats army against RS ha, ha, ha,

Like most western children you live in fantasy land – you can see the faults of others but never your own. The west is going through a financial meltdown but that is just glossed over; the west prides itself on human rights but Guantanamo Bay and the abuses in Abu Grahib prison in Iraq is being swept under the carpet because Obama the saviour has arrived.

All that Dodik has to offer is empty promises and hate-speech. While Tadic is busy trying to give the Serbian people a better life and having their country meet European standards of governance and economic development Dodik is busy using public funds to travel to sporting events around the world and doing everything in his power to prevent the living standards of his constituency from improving.

The Serbian people are obviously saddened by the loss of Kosovo and they are turning to nationalists to dull the pain but the simple fact is that Dodik is in it only for the power and money(just as Milosevic was)and couldn't care less about the well being of the Bosnian Serbs or Serbians. He simply sees their weak-spots as his key to staying power and continuing to live as an autocrat in his little fiefdom. The pressure on him to step aside is building and he's reacting in a predictably childish manner but his days as a politician are numbered the Balkans had one Milosevic and that is enough.

Dodik can offer nothing but isolation, stagnation, and confrontation. Besides keeping himself in power, making his family and friends wealthy, and preventing reconciliation between Bosnia's people from taking place what has he done? If Dodik were ever to follow through on his threats the Bosnian Serbs would end up like the Croatian Serbs in 95 therefore it's obvious that he's continuing the charade to stay in power and to make himself and his cronies wealthy at the expense of the tax-payers.

The future is one of stability, peace, and coexistence withing Euro-Atlantic institutions. As much as the Serbs like the Russians the fact is that it is in Serbia's interest to become a European state fully integrated into Western institutions. The idea of keeping an indefinite grudge against NATO simply doesn't make sense when one considers that many of today's NATO members bombed the living daylight out of Germany, Italy, and Japan and all three countries are now strong military allies. Serbia should stop living in myth and should instead enter the real-world of the 21st century. Dodik is an artifact of the dark past and he'll be removed in due time as Milosevic and his buddies were.

Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Macedonia need to start moving towards a better future together based on European standards of governance and human right protections. For that to take place Dodik and politicians (or thugs rather) like him need to be removed from office so that a new generation of leaders can take over. I'm certain that we'll see that happen in the near future.

Dodik and pretty much the rest of RS dispute the "official" numbers of dead in Srebenica that inflates every year and is widely accepted amongst the western aggressors. RS is merely looking to provide a fact finding mission and find a number closer to the truth and Dodik is leading the way. Within the context of Srebenica and the terror that Oric was unleashing on the surrounding Serb communities, what helped to precipitate and instigate a Serb advancement, is what the Serbs are looking for an apology for. Of which, the Muslim and Croats are not willing to give. Every one needs to own up to there actions. So far Tadic on behalf of Serbia has the will to do so. However, in doing so, he may have left RS without some bargaining room. Genocide happened when the Europeans came to the new world. Genocide happened to the Armenians in Turkey and Jews in WWII. Some might argue that Serbs and Roma can also be added to those numbers. RS got a good deal with Dayton and now the West is reneging on their deal and trying to weaken their entity. All the while showing the world that they are supporting the expulsion of Serbs in Kosovo and the illegal UDI. When will our Christian brothers learn.

"He's becoming politically insignificant"

In fact he is becoming a political liability for Serbia and every other country in the region. Dodik and his anti-EU/anti-NATO/anti-Dayton policies are the only remaining obstacle to the region becoming stable and integrating into the EU and NATO (except for Serbia which does not want to be a NATO member). Dodik is the sore thumb of the region and in due time he will be dealt with just as all others preceding him have been dealt with. People in the region want peace, stability, reconciliation, and above all economic development and are losing interest in fire-brand personality-cult politicians like Dodik who talk a lot, eat a lot, and steal a lot of their hard-earned money and sink their political and economic prospects in the process.

When will the Bosnian Serbs start to realize that Dodik and his party are single-handedly preventing them from leading better lives? When will they realize that new leaders would benefit them and their families? Dodik is using threats which don't exist to scare people into voting for him only to see him traveling around the world to sporting events with him family and friends while they themselves haven't received their pay-checks in months. It's time for Dodik to be removed from power so that a new constitution can be drawn up for Bosnia which will benefit all its citizens and the entire region can move forward towards European integration and economic development.

The people of the Former Yugoslavia have lost 20 years because of Milosevic's dead-end policies how many more years will they lose because of Dodik's dead-end policies?

Dodik is playing a losing game. It's obvious that the momentum in the region has shifted away from him and that his influence is eroding from one day to the next. That's why he's throwing these temper tantrums like a little spoiled child. Did he believe he could live off hand-outs and stolen public funds forever? It's obvious that his oversized political influence has gone to his head and that he's been riding a long ego-trip these last few years thinking himself to be the "king of the Serbs" or "King Lazar incarnate". The only problem with that is that he is a village-leader at best and any real EU politics is beyond him. He's becoming politically insignificant and the many law-suits and legal proceedings are on their way. I hope his current cronies will help his family out financially while "daddy is away on business".

Dodik is doing a good job giving his political enemies ammunition. Now he's openly denying a genocide that the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the UN, EU, US, and all regional countries including Serbia have recognized. Labeling him as a genocide-denier will be easy and the corruption allegations are well known. He also denied other war crimes such as the massacre in Tuzla. It's clear what the campaign to oust him is going to look like its only a matter to time before it starts in earnest.

It seems that Dodik is starting to be painfully aware of the fact that his time as the political big-shot in Bosnia is coming to an end and he's trying to raise the stakes. He should however be aware that any fight against the majority of Bosnians and the international community will end with him being a fugitive on the run in Serbia or in jail. I hope he enjoyed his time at the top because it's all downhill from here on out. The Bosnian Serbs would be advised to cut him loose before he drags them down with him the way Milosevic dragged Serbia through the mud and caused Serbia to lose Kosovo. Having less of their money stolen by him and his cronies as well as having more money flowing into the economy from NATO and the EU will be an added bonus for kicking him out of office.

FairPlay

pre 14 godina

Slowly but surely Dodik is digging his own political grave. He is isolating himself from all other politicians in the region and his denial of genocide will get him black-listed from international meetings and might even result in his arrest for denying a proven genocide. I foresaw Dodik's demise well in advance and sure enough "little Milosevic" is doing everything possible to be removed from power one way or another.

Soon enough he'll be living in a posh condo in Belgrade doing circuits on Serbian TV shows as a political "analyst" because he won't be in politics much longer and nobody wants him to stay Bosnia where he is accused of stealing millions of dollars from the impoverished public.

Keep doing what you're doing Dodik you're well on your way. It's tragic that every politician who uses the Serb nationalist card ends up staling money and going to jail. Serbs should know by now that playing the nationalist card is the easiest get-rich-quick scheme there is in the Balkans and that it never leads to any positive results.

Dodik is the best. The most popular politician in serb world. Thankfully someone has the courage to stand up the euro/nato. Tadic's sycophancy is beyond pathetic.

Srebrenica needs to be looked at properly. The US has zero credibility and it's lackeys conducted the investigation. Therefore, i repeat, Srebrenica needs to be looked at properly, again.

Sadly, you are correct. What I fear is that these zealots are standing in the way of true progress. It is not a matter of whether a country did or did not commit an act. It is these people who's only purpose is to stir up the population's anger and keep the hate alive. When there is no more anger or hate they have no job. Please do not encourage them. No one wins in that situation. They pervert our beliefs in a free society by using our freedom of speech laws against us.

Tadic will continue his sellout of Dodik and RS for sure just as Milosevic sold out Karadzic/Mladic. Pity given dodik endorsed tadic over nikolic in last very close presidential election.

for years we have been pleading with the internationals (that's us, folks) to dump this jerk, and move on. nationalist, semi-nationalist, friggen nationalist -- who cares?! he's a dangerous demagogue and i will party at his fall. as will the good people of bosnia, and throughout the balkans. and beyond.

and yes, unless he is arrested and tried (which he obviously should be) i agree w/ the prediction about the blgd "analyst" circuit. how sad.
