Mike that is their choice. Kosova's government had the choice of honoring contracts with the licensed mobile operators in Kosova by creating a fair competitive environment through the dismantlement of towers that were not licensed by the government; or not honoring it and sending the message that any investor in Kosova will have to be faced with unfair competition from Belgrade, since those business are heavily subsidized for only one ethnicity and do not pay licence fees and taxes in Kosova. I think in terms of business the choice was very clear. I have to make a minor correction to your post. There is also a Slovenian owned licenced mobile service. So the choice is not as you want to make it appear. The K-Albabnian mobile service is not the only choice there left for the Serbs in terms of licensed services. Also, I do not see any reason why a Serb owned mobile service cannot obtain a licence from Kosova. If they want to compete for the market they can do it; just as long as they are ok with competing in a fair manner by paying the same licensing fees and taxes that other mobile operator pay in Kosova. There is nothing fairer than that.

It is interesting that the Kosovo authorities chose to disable the Serbian phone system but don't do anything about the illegal electricity hook ups that are clearly visible when you walk down the street. Those who steal power are more of a menace than those who use Serbian phone numbers. And does this mean the Kosovo government will stop using landlines when they make phone calls since those landlines use the Serbian phone system? Kosovo needs to worry about the real offenders and lay off the big brother tactics.

-- As I suspected. Knowing the wonderful attitudes of Gracanica Serbs, they'll pay more for roaming than purchase K-Alb mobile service.
(Mike, 26 April 2010 23:49)

You know I waited until today, just to see if B92 will actually report it. But unfortunately no, as always attacks or vandalism towards Albanians or take an example companies that has license from the Government won't be reported. While Kosovo is acting fully under the law and removing antenas that do not pay taxes nor have any license to operate, these parallel structures in north have started retaliating by removing IPKO's antenas, not by cutting their cables, no no but by using TNT to fully demolish the structure in north. Of course, Slovenes will mostly be pissed, since today they own most of the company and I cant waite to see their respond to Tadic who gave the order to demolish their property because his illegal companies couldn't operate tax-free in Kosovo. Yes my freinds, hope ICJ and Brussels see what's really happening, who's acting under the law and who's really trying to steal.

What are you talking about? What have the Serbs done that is illegal? Open a book mate, and read. You will see who broke the laws and which side it falls on.

You ignorance is somewhat troubling, yet I try to remain aware. The Serb-natives are trying to live their lives and all you can say to them is "get a life" ? Well... it's pretty obvious who needs to get a life, and who needs to find other hobbys; other than stoning old folks, burning churches, and disabling communication towers.

You are pressing the buttons; Which in the long run wont work in your benefit. You are giving every excuse possible for the power to be handed back to Belgrade.... I say; For all the Serbo-albanos to act like the wild-bunch they are and continue to be self-destructive as they are, and in no time the UN/NATO will all be fed up and have no one else to hand the power to other than Serbia... Gooda day :)

We have heard during the ICJ case that the UDI would bring stability to the region. Well, based on the actions coming from Pristina, it looks like your little plans are beginning to backfire. Serbian infrustructure has been blown up in the South also. Stability is becoming more and more fragile while the only path to lasting peace is through the negotiating table. Ethnic Albanians continue to shoot themselves in the foot with their thug mentality.

BTW: your Kosovo-Albanian friends need a lot of tourist money form you. At least do that. Because I did - and not once.

However for the wise "we know better than you" foreigners who don't even bother to come and see all this tragedy in person - a little suggestion: mind your business!

I did see so many "Russia-Experts", "Hungary-Experts", "China-Experts" and of course "Serbia-Experts" who can't even swear properly in that language, but they still have an opinion and they have to voice it and are even paid for that. And of course these omni-present "Georgia-advisors". They should advise my rear.

While I can expect the international community to once again slap Pristina on the hand for acting out of "european" character, it's only a matter of time before they look for another ill-thought scheme in taking money and accumulating power.
