So only 25 countries are against an independent Kosovo? Well, how many countries recognized Kosovo BECAUSE THEY HAD TO in order to get aid or join the EU. Why don't you take a look at how many countries have embassies in Kosovo? Or, don't, you'll get very upset and sad.

Why you don't look how many coutries do not have their embassies in Serbia for that matter? There have been only two years since declaration of independence. Show some patience :)

As far as my native Montenegro goes, I just think we’re so small these countries simply thought we were a city and not a country. Its an easy mistake to make.

Jovan, my next big goal is to start my own Montenegrin Milo’s Sanction Bustin’ Castro Lovin’ Cigarillo brand cigarettes. I’ll probably go hydroponic just to be into the spirit of things.

Personally, I think partition in addition to some Vatican level powers bestowed upon our Church in Kosovo (At least Pec) might just enough to keep everyone from killing everyone else.

Is this independance paying for the bread on your table, or for your children to get a proper-level education?

Is this independance creating jobs? Repairing the failed infrastructure ? Repairing roads, or at least a landing strip for planes to land? I didnt think so, so what is this feeding or paying for?

Aaaa ,, i think i get it now. This "phony independance" is paying your self-induced egos. You think by having "Kosova" all your troubles will fade away. O how wrong you are. I hope the sake of yourself and your/my people... UN gets on with it already and had over control back to Serbia. This is slowly becoming a reality, the question is where do you stand in all this.
(trudsaam, 19 April 2010 21:12)
alright kosovo/kosova had 10 to 15% serbs all the jobs were taken by the serbs so they had income now u sit here saying that the independence is not bringing jobs, food, education, personly i think were doing ok we do have more jobs now than before the war but is still bad, world economy is not doing good now so i just whant u to understand that we what freedon just like u we have schools now university of prishtina which is something we didnt have under serb rule. also serb rule u know and i know ist not going to happend.
have a nice day everyone

As far I as know, Vatican City is NOT a country, but rather a city state. Two very different things.
Also, since Switzerland predates the UN, it's status as country is grandfathered in. In the begining of the UN, all nations which were interested in participating were recognized and given a seat at the UN, however those nations that chose not to join were still recognized as nations. Since then, however all new nations have needed a certainly amount of international recognition that is simply defined as UN membership for the most part.
I also wonder how it is that self proclaimed 'unique casers' can use other examples to justify anything? If you find justification in another example uniqueness is removed. Just something I noticed.

Well to be blunt; You should.

If you are not recognized who will accept your papers? Oh wait a minute, thats exactly why you are purchasing forged Serbian passports.

You are so concerned about this "phony independance", while in the mean-time our people are fighting for their lives.

Difference is your so-called Kosovo has a thick brick wall in front of it. Being marshalled by the West/UN/NATO, also for the fact that fully fledged members of the UN will conveniently deny you.

An last but not least; Kosovo is Serbia. How does it make sense for a southern province of a country to become a separate UN member entity ?

RE: Montenegro comparison to Kosovo

Montenegro recognitions are slow to come for three reasons:

(1) They are essentially Serbs and many of the international world correctly assume they are Serbs.

(2) There is not international pressure to recognize Montenegro as a seperate country

(3) Serbia recognizes Montenegro as a seperate nation and not an integral part of the Serbian Consitution.

Kosovo on the contrary is not where near recognized even with the most powerful nations in the EU putting pressure on all countries to recognized this monstrosity of international justice.

hahaha and serbia spreads propaganda that 120 countrys are behind them and against kosovo.kosovo without a UN membership got 68 recognitions in only 2 years.
i have study the kosovo case very closly and maximum 25 countrys are against kosovo.
in fact most of countrys dont care to recognize another country or they need about 10 years to do so.
according to serbian propaganda machinery only states with a UN membership are countrys that is absolutely wrong.vatikan is not a UN member so its not a country acording to serbs? or another example switzerland where until 2003 never a UN member so switzerland where acording to serbs not a country until 2003? lol

that's OK well the Serbs in montenegro should vote for independence in their part of montenegro which is about 45% and all parts are together, so it would be easy to join serbia and i am sure the 72 that did not recognise montenegro will recognise the Serb half, so lets get the voting going. and more than half that did vote for montengro will vote for the Serb half .

While some may list that with agreement of Serbia Montenegro has only been recognized by 120 countries in 4 years, Kosovo has not done so bad with 66 in 2 years with Serbia's exhaustive efforts to prevent.
But in reality it shows that recognition of new counrtries is not a high priority among many countries and should not be interpretted as support for Serbia.
