Strange... last time I checked UNSC resolution 1244 was still valid.

We all know: Kosovo is still a UN governed Serbian province!
(Ron, 19 April 2010 14:19)

please,please,please
explain to me and all readers on this site how is UN governing Kosova/o!?
When UN was governing Kosova/o , I was part of it, but not anymore. When CDI ocurred, I was told to start packing up.

You were told to start packing up because more UN internationals were to be deployed. You know this mate, you cannot deny this anymore ;)

Actually, Kosova/o govermant rebuffed Zanier's coment. On daily newspapers today it says that; Kosova/o govermant doeas not have any relation with UNMIK ,and UNMIK can speak on behalf of UN only, which means that Kosova/o is not represented by UNMIK, anywhere, anyplace, or at any level.

"That is why I keep on saying that if Serbia really cares about the return of Serbs living in Kosovo/a should recognise Kosovo/a independence first.
(EA, 18 April 2010 11:47)"

And that's precisely why Serbia will not ever recognize "Kosova"! Because a fully independent Pristina will have a free hand to do what it likes to the remaining K-Serbs. Better to have you guys outside the UN and under supervised independence forever -- do you honestly think the West really forgot to put in a deadline for the supervision to end?

And I will bet you that the overwhelming majority of K-Serbs will still rather throw in their lot with Belgrade -- they won't ever forget March 2004 -- and all your still ongoing stone throwngs, assaults and tomb stones vandalization isn't going to change their opinion in a hurry!

You can keep on saying about what Serbia should do of course, but I think you are living in la la land.

EA,

My friend, if Albanians in the Serbian province of Kosovo do really care about their province they should accept that Kosovo still is a Serbian province.

Like Austrians have accepted that South Tirol is an Italian province.

Serbs, Albanians and others must work together to make the state of Serbia a better place!

“People from Kosovo now understand the reality, have aspirations to join international organizations and the UN. I think that they reached the conclusion that it is in their best interest to maintain good relations with UNMIK,” Zannier said.

Mr Zannier, how could they ever join any international organisation exept maybe the "whale and dolphin hunting association" based in Marshall Islands without joining the UN first???? And that is never going to happen, no matter how many statues of Bill Clinton they build in Pristina.

It's in everyone's interest that those remaining 5 UN member workers who are "working" aka updating their twitter, checking email, facebook poking, etc, all go home.

It is the sentiments listed in your post, why I see independence as the only viable option for Kosovo!
As far as fair negotiations, there never was a reason for Serbia to negotiate, all they could hope for was to stall and keep Kosovo in "limbo" as you put it.

Mr Zannieri, people of Kosovo have been living in reality since the very beginning, what they did not understand was unrealistic and underestimating approach to either neighbors or some international actors who have commenced this bloody conflict. However Mr. Zannieri admits himself that Kosovo people is entity that is to join soon international organizations. At this stance Mr. Zannieri sounds profoundly objective, that is why he encountered finally realistic respond to the realistic approach. I do not want to miss the following at this occasion; I wonder what could be etymology root of his family name Zan-nieri, for those who can not speak Albanian here you are a possible explanation – NIERI or NJERI in Albanian is a MAN. Watch out Mr. Ivanovic or you Mr. Bogdanovic –he might be a disguised Albanian!
P.S. it is only a joke, of course .

I think it just shows what kind of people you albanians are when you say Serbs need to recognize Kosovo before they can go back home. Well, I say they don't and they shouldn't recognize Kosovo as anything else then the Serbian province that it is. If there were fair negotiations about its status then ok, but Kosovo today is corrupt, unemployed, racist and crime infested. Blackmail hasn't worked in the past and it won't work now. I say its better not to recognize and keep Serbs areas under Serb control, while at the same time keep the rest of Kosovo in limbo.

I find it difficult to believe that people who wish to return to Kosovo would have in mind to undermind Kosovo/a independence from Serbia. That is why I keep on saying that if Serbia really cares about the return of Serbs living in Kosovo/a should recognise Kosovo/a independence first.
