Not only in Serbia. It`s a bad habit of all Balkan/southeastern European countries. We build almost nothing, but we have ceremonies for every 100 meters.
(Adrian, Timisoara, 15 April 2010 15:34) Sure the poor taxpayers money hard at work. It just gets a little sidetrack to the construction of villas for the VIPs but work is being do not worry. Soon as that never ending works in progress is done. They will start the new road works to connect the villas for the VIP Mercedes can pass in comfort. To the next important project that the taxpayers will appreciate.

And other ministers claim it will create 120,000 jobs. While Tadic some time ago claimed 200,000.

It's abundantly clear they are making these number up, and that the vast majority will be temporary and not dent unemployment by much.

But politicians wont talk about this. Instread every two months they'll have a ceremony to open some part of the project.

Never mind this project was planned to be finished before the 2004 olympics, and that its start has been delayed basically until 2010.

"In Serbia, ceremonies marking the start of works on various sections of Corridor 10 have become something of a common occurrence."
