Jason,
I have heard recently from one of my dear russian collegues Irina who visited the Balkans not long ago that no one cooks better over there than the famous albanian Majlanda Kelmendi. What a multi talent.
(szemi, 12 April 2010 18:03)
I have no objection to Majlinda Kelmendi ;-)
I am only afraid, she will kick me in critical place and tell me, I am an old goat for her. So for me the adventure is over, I am "stuck" with my g/friend of youth. But things can be corrected - we have three sons and they are for "sale" soon ;-)
Otherwise serious warning: the worst food of our life we experienced in Rim Village, near Crater Lake in the cheap restaurant for masses. We did not try the hotel's restaurant because the bill for five would be over 200.
I have to say apologies to Canadians: the local food served in Quebec is very-very good. Serious reason to support Quebec's UDI.

First of all I would like to congratulate chefs on this succes. No doubt serbs have good sense of ball as well as cooking.I like our central and south east european region because of rich variaty of differnt cuisines which have influenced one another throughout the centuries and on top of all that Italy is within spitting distance. Those who like their stomach do not have to worry here.

I think you are moderator and you post whatever suits you.

From that list I wonder, what "culinary teams from Great Britain, Canada, U.S" were doing there at all?
British food was invented by Tomaso Torquemada, the Chief Spanish Inkvisitor, the other two are after-toughs of that glory.
No objection to any other team on the list and congratulation to Serbia.
What saves the butt of U.S. is California wine only, but it is to little.

Actually it's an early Redd Fox original along with his character Eatmo Bush. The best one of his is when Richard Nixon's campaign managers concede to Kennedy's campaign managers admitting that their candidate can lick their Richard Nixon.

I thought Kosovo-USA worked in a NYC pizza place topping, baking, cutting, and packing "gourmet Illyrian pizzas".

Masterbaker??And all this time I thought he worked as the chief cork soaker at the local winery.

I wonder if knows how to make grits and apple pie!
(Kosova-USA, 12 April 2010, 12:25)
I always preferred cream of wheat. I had grits when I moved to the Carolinas for some time, but I put maple syrup in them. Apparently that is a no-no in the southern states.

The nerve those Serbs have! I mean, honestly, they used stolen Illyrian recipes! I must file a letter of protest at once.
