How indebted is Serbia?

While the government claims that the state is not too far in debt, some experts are warning that Serbia has reached the level of a seriously indebted country.

What's your alternativeto freedom and democracy, sj?
(Milos Obilic, 12 April 2010 11:19)

The only viable alternative is a high standard of living, the rest is BS.
Freedom and democracy are two words that are used repeatedly by the media and then by people who do not understand what they represent. Even the ancient Greeks did not practice real democracy and not much has changed today.
If you talk about freedom of speech then there is no such thing – you open your mouth and endanger the “system” it off to prison, otherwise rant all you like and no one pays attention. If it’s freedom of the press then again there is no such thing because the media is a compliant tool of the ruling elite.
If you look at the 20 century when we had capitalism vs communism and compare the systems and levels of tolerance towards people’s “freedoms” both systems were very much the same i.e 1920s/1930s in the Soviet Union there was the Gulags for dissenters; in the US it was prison for unions and armed strike breakers that killed striking workers. Let me tell you that the US at that time was not a nice place for “dissenters” of the system.
Today they are telling us constantly we live in freedom and democracy “breathing free air and free speech”. Josef Geobbels said that if you shout a lie loud enough and long enough it becomes the truth. Boy was he right.
That’s why a high standard of living is head and shoulders above anything else.

Yes, Russia is responsible for the problems of Eastern Europe.

Yes, the decades of being under Russian domination are too blame.

Let's ignore the centuries of domination by Germany, Austria, the Ottomans and the designs of other local and foreign powers (UK and France).

The disparity in wealth between the west and the east, although by the late 70s the east had started stagnating.

The onyl country that this is not the case is the Czech Republic.

And that is a lie. They enslaved entire eastern Europe.

Well its 20 years since the fall of communism and Romania progressed little in that time period. In fact it has gone in reverse in many areas, but diehard wavers of freedom and democracy either cannot see this fact or are in too much of a shock to admit they were wrong.

The only thing we are talking about is standard of living, forget about freedom etc because you do not have more freedom today than under the Communists.

Well if they continue to borrow from IMF they will be forever indebted. Africa can tell you more about it, first as colonized slaves with their resources stolen from them and now as economic forever indebted, colonized slaves. I remember a program a saw back in the late 80´s, Russian students talking to american students via sat.link. One afro-american asked why there arent any blacks in Russia the russian theacher responded: We didnt trade slaves.End of discussion.
