"I never heard that a single Municipality anywhere in world, which is made up of 12-13 families." (Kosova-USA)

-- Neither have I, but it seems to be the operative solution Feith takes whenever the Albanian hillbillies get restless and threaten the multicultural social fabric of Kosovo that's so important for the rest of the world to believe.

It didn't stop Feith from creating this little gated community :)

Dear Poster,

I disagree with you. The whole Kosova is ONE, and Thaci aims at creating all the necessary conditions for Kosovo citizens to return.

Serbs would like your ideology to materialize but Kosovars will not allow this. Kosovo is open for all the citizens who want to live in peace and democratic environment. North of Mitrovica is as important as North of Prizren, North of Peja or North of Prishtina or N of Presheva for the Albanians. We cannot should not even think that something of that sort may have small likelihood to occur.
(PRN, 2 April 2010 15:33)

I agree with you that Kosovo is one. But the problem is that Serbs have all rights to return to Kosovo wheras Albanians do not have the right to cross the bridge in Northern Mitrovica to get to their properties. Do you think that´s fair? Besides that the villagers are claiming that there are war criminals among those Serbs who wish to return.
Those Serbs should only be allowed to return to Kosovo if they are innocent and if they are ready to accept the fact that Kosovo is an independent state and if they are ready to respect Kosovar institutions and laws.
I do not see the point why Serbs should get everything without any return service.

lest Feith once more carve out another "Serbian municipality" for them.
(Mike, 2 April 2010 17:25)

I never heard that a single Municipality anywhere in world, which is made up of 12-13 families.
ej, why not, lets create one just to make K-Serbs happy. I am all for it.I wonder what their yearly budget and taxes will be be!?
who will be the Mayor, Santa Claus?

"According to [Ivanovic], the two communities in Istok enjoyed good relations until shortly before the war broke out in 1999."

-- If that was the case, I can only surmise Istok and other parts of Kosovo-UNMIK were flooded with a new generation of Albanian carpetbaggers with little to no experience living with anyone else after 1999. Like multiple times throughout Kosovo's history, Albanian migrants have moved into the region to replace the departing Serb communities. I daresay these Albanians in Istok have any clue what Serb "war criminals" they're talking about and are only using this as a convenient excuse to keep a returning wave of Serbs out, lest Feith once more carve out another "Serbian municipality" for them.

Mr. Oliver,

first of all, you should also send a message of congratulations to Intl. community (and Albanian government if you want, but this second thing would be hard for you to do, we know it) for making the return of these refugees possible. Second you can criticize that part of Albanians as you are doing. Third, maybe you should also listen to what they are asking, "return of the missing people". Where are they? Can you at least return their bones? On the contrary, you say "I see no other reason for them to protest..."

PRN

As long as Albanians are not allowed to return to their properties in Northern Mitrovica, Serbs won´t be allowed to return as well.
It´s simple like that.

Wow if PRN and EA are examples of even a very small proportion Albanians with such rabid anti Serbian views I cannot see how there can ever be peace.

After cleansing thousands of Serbs and other minorities from Kosovo, for EA to suggest this is a Belgrade plot to distort the numbers of Serbs who rightly belong in Kosovo is quite frankly a level of hatred bordering on insanity.

Unfortunately EA and PRN, your arguments are weak. First, Serbs will be permitted to return to their homes. One can protest all s/he likes but we all know that protests lead to nothing. Second, PRN, this fluff of yours about the Serbs returning home being criminals is more idiotic than I could have imagined coming from an adult, if you are indeed an adult. So, just because one is a Serb automatically means s/he has blood on the hands? That's akin to saying every Albanian is a drug or human trafficker just because a couple of Albanians have been caught doing these dirty deeds. If there are any war criminals anywhere, then they will be caught and sent to justice, whether Serb or Albanian. Finally the BS about historic lands is completely irrelevant to this article. This article refers to land that belonged to the living not the dead. If one is on someone's property illegally, they must leave. Hey, they lived there rent free for 11 years and now the party is over.

>>> Please allow me to point on, hidden or not, nazism of your statement.

You do admit that the humans (Serbians and non Albanians) were expelled from their homes and properties for no reason apart of their ethnical background, some being violated or even killed, and now, following your society above mentioned criminal act, you again suggest lawless and racist "preconditions"?

Well nothing more to expect when the "state" is given to the bunch with genuine undemocratic concept of mind and acting of their "society".

Albs only want to steal Serbian land and their property, sell it and buy a one way ticket to a civilized country. I hope the international community realizes its misstake in supporting criminals and murderers. Let Serbs go back to their land.

EA

pre 14 godina

Serbia is trying to use for its mean political goal the return of displaced Serbs. It is as simple as that.
Those wishing to return to Kosovo MUST recognise Kosovo/a insistituions first and not allow themselves being used by Belgrade. It is as simple as that. Belgrade is trying to increase artificially the number of Serbs in Kosovo/a to use the against Kosovo/a state. That CAN NOT be allowed. Serbia would not want to think that the Albanians in Preseva, Bujanovc and Medvegja to be used against the Serbian state. A way forward. Serbia recognised Kosovo/a independence first, enter into friendship agreement wih Kosovo/a state as equal partners and move forward. There is no other way. I hope you will get my point.

PRN

Dear Oli,

How about the Albanian concerns...

They (the international community) should send a clear message to SERBS about their position over of return of Albanians in Nis and the whole Toplica region as well as Novi Pazar if Serbs statements about supporting the return of all people in their historic lands are in fact sincere.

The two communities in Nis, Toplica and Novi Pazar enjoyed good relations until shortly before the war broke out in 1876.

I, too, see no reason from Serbs to protests, except that Serbs do not wish to give back to Albanians their land that they have been using illegally.

Period.

I think this sound far more rational and credible than allowing a bunch of criminals with blood on their hands to return again to the victims. These crimininals need to be sent to an Drenica prison for rehabilitation.
