Yes, every bigger country (and even smaller ones like Switzerland or Austria) have regional structures. Cantons, or whatever they might be called. EX-YU had it, too, including the autonomous regions which were revoked my Milosevic.

But keep in mind that such a decentralized structure should not be created along the line of ethnic structures.

Every major ethnic group in Serbia should have their own repulik. If the Serbs want to run parallel structures in the region then Serbia's own ethnic minorities should have to right to have their own parallel structures within the state. Belgrade only cares about the Serbs and is completely ignoring the needs of ethnic minority citizens. The only way to speed up development in ethnic minority regions is to give each major ethnic minority group their own republik that they can run. If every major ethnic group (ex. Albanians, Bosnians, Hungarians, Gypsies, etc.) in Serbia had their own republik and their own Dodik the country would be much better off.

Introducing "decentralization" to the country which is politically and economically weak, to the extreme limit of this word, can only lead to disintegration of Serbia or to the unnecessary dangerous tensions in that sense.

Milošević destroyed as much as he could from Serbia throughout 90-s...Democratic Party with their schizophrenic zig-zag agenda will "complete" his job.

From the time of WWI via Simović and Patriarch Gavrilo senseless resistance to Germany our leaders are doing their best to terminate their nation.
This "talented" job goes on...soon to be "completed".

"...Today's Serbia disintegration is inevitable and soon we will see the Belgrade pashalik being reborn again.
(PRN, 30 March 2010 11:02) ..."

>>> Agree with your "good willing" suggestion 100%...just to inform you that that Belgrade's "pashalik" will include Kosovo and Metohija among the rest too.

"Any wrong approach to decentralization is dangerous and can be counter-productive and cause social shocks instead of improvement. Decentralization is a long process for which large-scale preparations are necessary in transport and telecommunications," he said.

In other words, prepare yourselves for a lot of talk and very little action while the funds donated by the EU etc for this purpose mysteriously evaporate.

The key principle is to bring decision making as close to the citizens themselves as possible, said Degert, adding that decentralization should give more power and more responsibility to the people. Lots of nonsense hypocritical statements coming from the EU as usual as if they practise what they preach. Lisbon treaty case in point when Ireland rejected it. The EU said and made sure the peoples will in Ireland was overridden by their big guns and made sure a NO meant Yes. That was for centralizing consternating power in Brussels and giving elevating the EU bureaucrats to President ,Vise President foreign minister etc over the the EU member countries and above their elected officials. EU not to be trusted and its new set up in any way better to leave it. Its goal is the pursuit for total power and control of it ,on its unrelenting agenda.

Decentralization of Serbia is a positive step because it will eventually lead to Pashaliks.

We are all aware that the only natural solution for the balkans to have peace is for Serbia to disintegrate because occupation has always the beginnig and the end.

Today's Serbia disintegration is inevitable and soon we will see the Belgrade pashalik being reborn again.

The Sandzak region should be decentralized so as to speed up its political and economic development. The region is being ignored by Belgrade and only decentralization will help to bring much-needed development to the region. Since the Bosnian Serbs have a province called a "republik" in Bosnia-Herzegovina perhaps the Bosnians living in Serbia should have their own repulik.

Decentralisation is not motivated by western finger...what was that of 'the blessed plot'

In order to realise a federal United States of Europe, countries have to be first decentralised and then autonomised and then seperated from the center.
