Ilyrian, yes I am sure that an opposite is needed to todays USA and EU. Soviet Union is no more and someone else needs to take its place in the new world order.
As long as USA and EU are dominating the world according to their will the need for other major players are nessesary.

All countries than wish to rise from agricultural to industrial state have to go through this process. Look at Japan’s history since WW2 and you will see a very similar path.
As a school child if a product fell apart we used to say it must have been made in Japan, but look at that country now. I actually recall the first time Honda opened its showrooms in my country and the unpleasant remarks people would say about the car.
Serbia has to go through that process now and there is no other way – it’s either work or sink. There is no money to give and people to pretend to work – those days are all gone.

This latest spending spree by China shows the ambition of the Chinese to snap up quality western consumer industries and so gain greater industrial expertise and advanced technology.

By spending wisely part of their vast reserves the Chinese have been busy investing heavily overseas, particularly in energy and commodities in order to secure supplies for its fast-growing economy in the long run.

The following statistic is very interesting and confirms that the next phase of growth in Chinese economy will be weighted more on domestic consumption.
There are 10 cars/1000 Chinese compared to 766/100 in the US.That shows the US market is saturated and cannot grow organically unlike China's that has a bright future.

While China has been building its indusry the West abandoned the principles of post-war productive capitalism and instead followed the Reaganite/Thatcherite principles of casino capitalism which was based on the ponzy schemes of the Wall-Street crooks.

It's too late for them to rebalance their economies now.The balance of power has already started shifting to the East.

If you decide to go to experience Chinese working conditions first hand - 7 day weeks, 12 hour days, for a few euros - do write and tell us how you get on. The Chinese even import their own labour to the big farms they run in Africa because they're cheaper than the locals. There is no future for any European worker in the Chinese becoming economically stronger.

Another sign of wich countries that are going to be the major players in the future...
"The one and only superpower" selling its assets to "underdeveloped" China, a good future for the world lays in front of us!
