Yes, just another of these balkan "heros", like Mladic, Thaci, Karadzic, Oric, Gotovina, Haradinaj, Šešelj - every balkan country has some, some more, some less...

Absolutely, its time for everyone to face up to their past sins and admit that their own sides committed misdeeds.

These people will no doubt be held accountable for their crimes one day.

Srboslav the law under which Ganic was arrested was not in place during the Thatcher years and is a part of recent legislation. It makes foreign citizens that come to the UK accountable for crimes committed abroad. The government in the UK will do nothing to protect Ganic if the judicial process requires that he is held accountable. They're not able to nor do I think they'd want to. The judiciary here in the UK is independent from government. Interference in the process of law is not something any MP or even the Prime Minister in the UK would risk at the moment or any time really. Consider also that the UK legal system was prepared to arrest the former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni who cancelled her plans to visit here when she heard.
This is not a step any other country in Europe would have taken.

Tony Blair became an enemy of Serbia for his own vanity using justice and compassion as an excuse. He has a lot to answer for but he is gone although many here in the UK would like to see him in the dock as well. People here are open to question 'anything' he told them. So if Serbia has a case they should continue the process so that the re-education of people here can continue.

What new evidence this prosecutor can bring, that hague Tribunal does not have?
Ops, he is bringing more lies and make up stories, but why now and not then(when ICTY was doing its investigation)?
The bottom line is that Serbia does not even want ganic in Serbia, since it will have a hot potato in its hands.

“Unfortunately the English has a habit of protecting war criminals and fascists from extradition.” - Srboslav
This seems rich when one considers Mladic and others! Let’s remember, Ganić arrived in London, having been allowed to escape custody and travel freely across many countries – not one of which arrested him. Once in London, the Serb Government requested his arrest and the UK authorities acted. Ganić is not “feely” living in London. A substantial sum of money was paid as security, his passport is retained by UK authorities and he is required, as part of his bail conditions, to report to a central London police station every single day. Now compare that with how Serb fugitives are and have been treated.

I don’t know whether the man is guilty or innocent – that’s for the proper authorities to decide. But I do know that the UK assisted Serbia in this regard. Why isn’t this good enough for you, Srboslav? Is it because you take comfort in your outdated prejudices, and no evidence to the contrary will change your mind?

If they didn't gave up Maggies old friend Pinochet a few years ago they are probably not going to give up Ganic either. I glorious triumph for the British Colonial powers...
