I think the Turkish community should all move to the same area of Germany, roughly about the size of Kosovo. Start picking off Germans one by one utilising a Terrorist cell and once the Germans retaliate we can send NATO to bomb the hell out of them on Humanitarian grounds.
After a few years the Turkish inhabitants can claim an illegal unilateral declaration of Independence on German soil and approximately one third of the UN countries will recognise that state. Easy isn't it.

Sound familiar. Your Next Germany and boy do you deserve it.
(Mr. David J. Jones, 25 March 2010 13:16)

Mr. Jones,

You are comparing apples to oranges. i.e. The Albanians did not move into Kosovo, it was the Serbs that arrived about 1200 years ago and pushed the Albanians into the mountains.

Another thing, Germany is a member of NATO and so is Turkey, I doubt NATO will bomb itself.

I do not think Erdogan has even a slightest chance. This is about the recent series of defeats and every day is an other bad news. Now he wants to survive politically. We can expect more provocations like this in coming weeks. The proposal similar to American and Swedish is now on the table in Belgrade and most likely there won't be good news for Ottomans.

Otherwise the amount of brainwashing is sickening. One has to read the history curriculum in Turkish schools and it's just everything upside-down what we did learn.

They consider Ottoman Empire to be liberator and defender the poor against bandits and different "bad" people. Unfortunately these "bad" people considered to be heroes in their native countries. Or maybe really time to apologize for resisting Turks at Constantinople, sorry, our forefathers hated the idea of being enslaved, killed, robbed and their communities destroyed. Apologies.

Ottomans was a barbaric horde from begin on and remained such till now, no place for them in Europe, no place for them in Middle East.

You should be thankful, Mr Erdogan, that the Germans have not afforded your people the same courtesy as you have the Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians, and why now there is no need for you to open schools with those languages in your country.

This statement is a generalization.
Now, either you are joking or you really don't know what generalization means.

The irony here is that we have two champions of ethnic cleansing confronting each other.
(szemi, 25 March 2010 15:10)

Germans are fully excused. True, they did commit the worst crimes known - but they did pay for that and they apologized to fullest extent. The evil can't be undone, but one can't be punished twice.

On the other hand Turkish state not just cleverly escaped the fate of Germany - but their laws are such as if Germans would make a law prohibiting to criticize Hitler. As we know, in Turkey you can't criticize Kemal pasha. The personality cult is sickening.

Hence if here Germany shows Turkey a middle finger that is well-deserved.

One more thing: as far as I recall, it is not obligatory to live in Germany. If someone does not like it: go back to Turkey.

------

Needless to say that albanians have been the best vassals of both.
(szemi, 25 March 2010 15:10)

Correction: *** SOME *** Albanians have been the best vassals of both. On the other hand, large number of Albanians seriously contributed to Greek Revolt against Ottomans and sufficiently large number of Albanians supported Tito and/or Enver Hoxha against Germans and Italians. But some Albanians committed grave crimes against Serbs and Jews.

As for Ottomans: they brought to Balkan peninsula misery only. As long as Turkey claims Ottoman legacy: best if they aren't involved into Balkan politics. At the moment they distance them self from Ottoman past and face the crimes committed in last 700 years: I am perfectly fine with them.

The problem is, Germany had to face crimes committed in 12 year period. They are done with that. Soviet Union had/has to face crimes committed over a 70 year period. They are almost done with that, too. Ottomans have to face crimes committed over 700 year period - and they are PROUD of these crimes.

This is why I am saying, even Russia will be sooner in EU than Turkey. If EU will exist - same is with Armenia. Actually, I really want EU to survive long enough to accept Armenia as a member and I really want to see Turkey sitting on the fence and scratching head. That would be probably the best revenge Armenia can think of. And once it happens - good luck for Turkey's EU membership! Otherwise I am rather sceptic about EU, but I really want to see the moment all Balkans + Georgia + Armenia being in EU and Turkey left behind.

Typical hypocrisy from the Germans and other imperialists. Telling Serbs to have albanian schools, Hungarian schools, in Serbia, while denying the same right to their beloved Turks in Germany.
(Dragan, 25 March 2010 15:23)
---

There is such a thing as a difference between recent immigration and the status of ethnic minorities that have been living in a particular area for centuries. Especially if the latter are an indigenous group from the same geographical area. (Now feel free to wax lyrical about Albanians in Kosovo being nothing but being Muslim invaders who arrived there shortly before yesterday from somewhere in outer space, whereas Serbs have continously populated their current territory since the Stone Age, of course...)
Native minorities like Danes, Frisians and Sorbs are protected in Germany. They had no choice whatsoever what country they live in. They didn't cross any borders, the modern borders crossed them.
The same applies to Hungarians, Bosniaks, Albanians etc. in Serbia.
Turks and other immigrant groups in Germany, however, actively crossed borders in order to live in a country that seemed to offer them better economic opportunities than their home countries did. Therefore one should assume they more or less accept the country they chose to live in the way that country is. Therefore it is in their own best interest to integrate, speak the language as well as possible, and not get themselves caught up in parallel societies for eternity.

But, historical facts and academic books become irrelevant when you get your news from Glenn Beck.
Ethnic generalizations are ugly.

I think, Armenia should apologize to Turkey for the Armenians who took arms and resisted the genocide, I mean, pardon, Ottoman Social Welfare™

Austria + Poland should apologize for Sobieski defeating them at Vienna, Serbia should apologize for 1389.

Albanians should not be left out, they should apologize for Gjergj Kastrioti and Croatians + Hungarians for Nikola Subic-Zrinski.

Almost forgot - Ukraina and Russia should apologize for cossacks harassing innocent Turkish army. And of course Greeks and Venetians should apologize for defending Constantinople.

And Turkey should be in EU from tomorrow on.

This is the same Erdogan who last year on his visit to Germany was calling on Turkish immigrants not to integrate and not to forget their Turkish ancestry.

This is the head of goverment of a country which blocks internet access to articles criticising Islamic creationist theory or which imprisons authors for failing to be Armenian Genocide deniers as instructed.

This is the leader of a country that yearns to become an EU member and yet illegally occupies a part of Cyprus-another EU country.

This is the leader of a country that does nothing to stop the free flow of heroin from Afganistan into his country and then into Europe.90% of the drug comes through Turkey.

But most of all, the thought ofopening the door to nearly 80-and soon to be 100-million muslims into europe
will be a massive shift in the culture of all Europe as we know it.

Don't think it can't happen. Istanbul used to be a Byzantine city called Constantinople. Many other cities in Turkey allso used to be Greek Christian cities.
