On the dutchies head be it. They can be blamed for not letting Serbia in. Serbia's already doing very well. Of course, without Serbian cooperation, the EU can kiss goodbye to its plans for the region..

As for a coup d'etat required in Belgrade, maybe they should take a leaf out of the Albanian political scene...who are still fighting over their elections of last june!

There's nothing to learn from them about democracy then...

# My goodness, how many obsctacles Serbia has towards the EU and still refuses to apologise and admit its awful past.

A coup d'état in Serbia is needed to bring the Western Democratic forces in power and ONCE AND FOR ALL change Serbia's middle-ages attitudes that casued so many bloodshed throughout the Balkans
(PRN, 25 March 2010 15:02)

yes, a lot of us have been waiting for this democratic progress for quite a long time. but it will not happen by magic, it needs to be nurtured and nudged along...

at the very least, mladic needs to be arrested and delivered to the hague. and there needs to be some kind of meaningful truce with both bosnia and kosova. as long as the blgd regime continues to actively destabilize both bosnia and kosova, it remains the main problem agent in the region.

so when is maldic to be arrested? we want the date now!

>>> Thanks for your helpful "notice" concerning our "attitudes" dear PRN, but if I may add, if Serbia's attitude is in "mid-ages", following the same historical progression your Kosovo Albanian must be somewhere on the level of "Proteus anguinus".

Last winter under the pressure of EU lands, US...Dutch and Verhagen just have done tactical move in "approving" the implementation of Interim Trade Agreement. It meant clearly only that they were willing to give us "extra economical breath" in this heavy times of global World economy.
But as you may guess they did not fundamentally change their opinion in "blocking Serbia till Mladić is delivered" using the "handy" hiding behind "Brammertz's positive report".

So it means that our Government was blowing fanfares of victory for nothing. Ratification of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) is far away as it was last winter.
And maybe even further: even if the June's Brammertz report is positive to the level that ratification can start in the Parliaments of EU countries our "little" disadvantage is that Netherlands is run by Government in resignation, they will be having new elections just in that same June and they will not be having new Government in action before September as earliest. Furthermore, with Netherlands, if we take into account that extreme right PVV party may win that election then it is reasonable to conclude that the forming of any kind of coalition Government, which will be needed, will surely take longer then usual and if we take to notice that this same well known Serbophobic Dutch FM Verhagen, at that time, may even play for the role of Prime Minister find yourself free to conclude when Dutch Parliament may decide to vote on this Ratificatiion....my guess would be, and if the "holly words" of Brammertz do allow so, at the end of this year at earliest.
And this was only the case of Netherlands. What can happen in interim politics of another EU members it is hard to guess, but it all influences the "pace" of our EU progress.

Back to our "candidate status", it will not be getting on the agenda of EU before the mid or late 2011 if even then.
So if our politicians do advocate different dates be free to tell them they are lying.
And maybe briefly on our admission date... following present EU crisis due to the "Greek syndrome", German "change in faith" toward EU based on traditional focusing on their, historically well known, egocentric interests, EU "bad experience" with Romanian and Bulgarian admission...we will be getting there at 2020 or better to believe never.
Furthermore if we are in the same wagon for our EU bid with Albania, not functional Bosnia, KosovA or Macedonia only one conclusion is correct: again never!
Maybe it is the high time to change the leading subject of politicians talks and newspaper articles, turn to another track and look for the alternatives.
