@Mikael C

fear on the part of kosovars regarding icj ruling was NONEXISTANT.

the complaint by kosovars, was that it was a feeble propagandist delaying tactic on the part of serbia.

Nothing can reverse independence...but an icj ruling will allow serb propaganda to fall on its face..and display the obvious, that serbia doesnt care a bit about international law. Serbia has NO answer to what it will do when the icj does not declare independence illegal.

Dear excellent team of B92

I incourage you to ignore the comment below from the person with nickname ZMAJ. The name Kosova has been used for decades in albanian language and therefore is not intended to provoke anyone.
For whoever feels provoked, you already placed the disclaimer on top of every new comment link.
There is no written interest which oppose the elementary right of the person to express the toponyms in his/her own language.
Your media is very well accepted in Kosova and therefore I congratulate you for your profesionalism.

B92,

THIS: (Kosova-USA, 24 March 2010 10:06) is obviously a provocative message to Serb readers and not name or nickname.

It should be written "Kosova"- USA, at least.

I must ask B92 to respect or government policies and our National feelings at those times, especially. You should force publishing comments in accordance to our policies and not allow "Kosova" without quotes.

I'm sorry to remember you all the time, you definitely want to be democratic.. This is too much "democracy" and it going against Serbian efforts and interests.

I think I can imagine how hard you're working but this is "needle in the eye" and TOO provocative and undermining- it's TOO MUCH. We're officially forcing Unmik/Kosovo - remember?

Thanks.

.. it is to be published.

A lot of albanians were against the ICJ ruling and said they wouldn't follow the advisory decision, probably believing it would be to their dissadvantage. Now, all of the sudden, they are as confident as they can be. How is this possible? Has the verdict leaked out? What albanians and the west are hoping for is a neutral decision which the west will see as a success. However, if its neutral neither side wins. So, we have status quo and two sides who still want it their way. The only way is to partition Kosovo, which is having it the way it is today or for the albanians to accept everything but independece, which is way more then they have today. Now you would think they have the plague. No one wants to be seen with them. Anywhere they go they create more problems then solutions. They are at UN meetings but not a UN member. It's like the ugly kid no one wants to play with but you have to because his daddy is paying you to be his friend.

Jero, Luxembourg does not respect 1244. What are you doing there.
(MJ, 24 March 2010 15:38)

Correction! Luxembourg does respect 1244, just like K-Albanians do. Independence was proclaimed in line with 1244. It's Serbia's interpretation of 1244 that Luxembourg and others don't respect. 1244 never excluded the option of independence for Kosova. ICJ ruling will soon confirm that too.

Once the decision is rendered, Serbian officials will be free to declare they have done everything possible to retain Kosovo. Now Serbia must look to the future, while they will never accept the independence of Kosovo, it is time to focus their energy on the future of Serbian people.
The integration of Serbia will be sped up inorder to help Serbian people accept the loss of Kosovo.

I'm not so convinced of 'faster integration' theory.

Western european states don't give a damn about international law when it doesn't suit them. Does anyone honestly think that the US, UK, France etc. will de-recognized 'Kosova'? It may happen, but less likely to be so from any european country.

Their diplomacy is simply "Do as we say, not as we do" yet still bleat on about human rights and international law. No wonder LaAm, Asia and other rising states see them as the worst hypocrites.

If the judgment is more ambiguous, which is more likely, neither will the US and western european states put any realy pressure on the Kosovo albanians to negotiate. As we know, Kosovo albanians in Pristina refuse to cooperate or agree on anything but their own terms, especially when they are supported to the hilt by the above said countries. Albanians who are willing to negotiate are surpressed or threatened for expressing such views.

As for the very subjective issue of 'good neighborly relations' that Brussels squeals about, it seems as this only refers to Belgrade and not Pristina. The latter seem to be immune, protected if you will, from having to apply any basic and accepted standards in this regard.

I hope Serbia will be prepared to push back against this continued discrimination from Brussels which just wants to brush it all under the carpet and say 'job done'.

Serbia has time on its side and should continue reforms for the sake of its own people, but not submit to further blackmail from Brussels just for the chance to become one of the wizards at the end of the Yellow Brick Road. Make Brussels sweat.

Of course it will be faster integration, just as soon as Serbia recognize Kosovo and send its ambassador to Pristina.
(BOPA, 24 March 2010 12:29)

How can a country send an ambassador to one of its own provinces?

You must be kidding indeed. What a joke! Now back to work!
(Ron, 24 March 2010 14:35)

Funny that you say that Ron,

How can a foreign country appoint two ambassadors(one in Belgrade and one Prishtina) in one country?

PRN,
you missed the most important part of Vuk's statement, the best part.

Asselborn, Jeremić are seen in Luxembourg (FoNet)

"Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić said that he hopes that Serbia’s EU integration process will be sped up once the ICJ gives its opinion on Kosovo."

The court is currently deliberating the legality under international law of the Kosovo Albanian unilateral declaration.

While visiting Luxembourg, Jeremić said that once the ICJ gives its opinion on the legality of Kosovo’s self-proclaimed independence, “opportunities will open for a solution that will contribute to speeding up the European integration of the entire Western Balkans,”

the part about a possible new resolution of the illegal land grab.

By the way, i had no idea that you are a FM.

Kosova-USA

pre 14 godina

During his visit, Jeremić met with the country’s Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, who said that he hopes that Serbia “will make decisions that will contribute to stability in the Western Balkans” once the ICJ gives states its opinion.

It seems that pretty much all FM from western countries know which way the advisory opinion will go. Serbia knows that as well, and most certanly is not in its favor.

“Faster integration after ICJ decision”

At least I agree with Jeremic on this.

Follwoing the ICJ decision, the number of KOsovo recognitions will be radically increased within the EU and worldwide thus paving the way for Serbia to admit (to its citizens) that our recognition is imminent since all are doing it, which in turn means closer integration towards the EU.

This comment is the first light under tunnel, but lets see how Serbian public will receive/intepret it.
