As soon as the Turks started making their "mediation" overtures in the Balkans, I knew they were after something.

Now their true colors come out. Guess what Davutoglu? Stop your finger wagging, and run. Hopefully faster than your great-grandfather did in 1912.

You will not demand anything from Serbia or any other Balkan country that your sick little Empire sapped of anything good for 500 years.

By meddling in European affairs they hope that their little patch of dirt west of Straits will make them a bona fide EU member with all the sexy foreign investment that comes with it.

I think it's time (it was) for our country to recognize GENOCIDE OVER ARMENIANS!!

This is truth and we have human and moral obligation to do that!

ATO

More collective guilt from the guilty. Turkey should first apologize to the Armenians first, five hundred times over. In that case, it was actually Turkey that perpetrated the crime, not some autonomous second-party. Turkey should apologize to the Kurds and give them their own country too.

Turkey?? Who or what are they? Is this the same country that lives off EU money?
Is Ahmet Davutoglu a Turkish standup comedian? Otherwise just keep quiet and just maybe Turkey’s murderous past may be layed to rest. I now repeat for the tenth time, it sad to see how a country can be so deluded into believing that it’s so important anyone will listen to these rantings.
Please don’t live in fantasy land because Turkey is not that important, it’s third world country.

Think of it as some black people(especially in some American films)addressing each other by the controversial "n" word but disapproving of non-blacks saying it.
(The Confesser, 19 March 2010 23:24)

Thanks for that comment - yes, you achieved a "green" one from me, I rarely ever use + or -.

Oh, yes, it's the "Cyrano and his nose" effect. Only Cyrano is allowed to criticize the length of his nose; others will be introduced to the length of his sword.

It's used all the time and one should be always careful about it... It's a double-standard of course but yours truly does it all the time.

Isn't it actually discriminatory for you to have called Turkish people 'turkeys'? But if you think that's discriminatory, I'll confess that one day when my parents had their Turkish friends come over their sons were getting into little mischief and I firmly but in a low tone of voice called one of them a 'naughty Muslim'(it had nothing to do with them having Turkish background.)Finally and though I admit I said something derogatory to one of them I personally feel that when "push comes to shove" that Muslims who make derogatory remarks to other Muslims is less offensive than non-Muslims saying it. Think of it as some black people(especially in some American films)addressing each other by the controversial "n" word but disapproving of non-blacks saying it.

(Rote, 19 March 2010 20:15)

Mongolians are pretty much confused tough. At the time I visited it was still the time of "great brotherhood". Since that time some nationalistic voices begun to appear - but with the big part of inteligentsia being married either to Russians or Chinese the things are pretty much under control.

BTW: the "pan-turkic" begun to appear in Mongolia, too. After all, they belong to Altaian sub-group like Turks. And Hungarians belong to Uralian sub-group of Ural-Altaians. Visit youtube and look at all the "grey wolves", Hunnic arrow-corsses and other gems. 10-15 minutes enough, more is just waste of time.

And at least Mongols made the formal apology. Forgotten is the "Golden Horde" not, but the tomahawk is buried.

“ Serbia should do it in nanoseconds, wasting no time.”

I feel the same about the Turks. If you remember : «Чья бы корова мычала …» so I guess they are taking the risk of sponsoring a united front of several peoples with good memories. And Serbia has good chances to be one of them. Turks are not in a position to make such silly statements. Especially taking into consideration the multiple problems they are facing inside and outside the country. Anyway all Turkophobes will be happy to have Serbia being involved.

Sure in Russia we enjoy the developments cause the Turks have to become closer. But in fact we do not expect them to be very sincere towards us. All of them know at whose knee their Empire has been broken and thus stopped to exist. But tactically we need each other. When in Mongolia you must have noticed how they love the Russians. Something you won’t meet in Turkey. But with the current Serbian leaders I don’t think Russia will be involved to the scandal.

Cheers !

Russia
Malta
Bosnia
Slovakia
Austria

OK, that's the ad-hock list of the countries burned, pillaged and raped by Ottomans. The list is impressive. There are some more bad news. All these countries are either in EU or will be in EU before Turkey (except Syria and Iran). And all of them will want apologies, to a smaller or larger degree. I smell some trouble - unless Turkey's politicians change their attitude.

The term genocide has, unfortunately, become a political tool with which to bash your opponents. Turkey is in no position to lecture anybody about the miss treatment of ethnic minorities. Up until recently the Kurdish population were forbidden from using their own language, nevermind the deliberate extermination of the Armenian people during the First World war. Turkish meddling in the Balkans is as unwelcome now, as it was in the past.

It shows a breathtaking lack of either irony or perspective that he's making this statement at a time when Turkey is getting hysterical about anyone mentioning the Armenian genocide. It just shows that, unfortunately, ardent nationalists tend to be a bit dim, whatever their nationality.

Cheers !

I take it that this is what passers for humour in Turkey these days?

Only two days ago the turkish Priminister threatened to expel 100,000 armenians from Turkey: BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8572934.stm

Think of it as some black people(especially in some American films)addressing each other by the controversial "n" word but disapproving of non-blacks saying it.

More collective guilt from the guilty. Turkey should first apologize to the Armenians first, five hundred times over. In that case, it was actually Turkey that perpetrated the crime, not some autonomous second-party. Turkey should apologize to the Kurds and give them their own country too.

I think it's time (it was) for our country to recognize GENOCIDE OVER ARMENIANS!!

This is truth and we have human and moral obligation to do that!

Yeah, you forgot those Kurdish still "in progress" they should apologize to their own population, also!

And I forgot FYROM, my bad. Plus Jordan, UAE and Lithuania because they were in personal union with Poland. And coastal parts of Spain.

The list grows..
