The US would burn every Albo in Kosovo rather than allow this to happen to the monument. Now rifle on left shoulder and quick march, left, right, left , right.

My God! Hire some unemployed locals to drive around now and then, why use a police force for the ugliest building standing in all of Kosovo since 1953.

Maybe they could also guard a monument that the Albanians built say 1500 years ago. Oh, there isn’t one; it seems the majority belong to Serbs with some Turkish – what a surprise.

This should be worth a few laughs come June 28th :)

"why use a police force for the ugliest building standing in all of Kosovo since 1953."

-- I'll admit, I sort of expected the "monument" to the Battle of Kosovo to me a little more than a block of stone. But "ugliest building"? I don't know about that. Pristina's got some heavy hitters for ugly buildings and tasteless architecture. Hotel Victoria is a pretty good contender for ugliness, though it might fall more under the category of "gaudy".

"I say destroy it and have nothing to fight about." (MJ)

-- Now now, hasn't your people's lust for senseless destruction been satiated by now? Think of it this way: the next time Pristina wastes money on more CNN ads showing the Land of Chocolate to be this multiethnic and multicultural paradise, you can show Gazimestan as part of that "Kosovan" heritage. Plus it's barren on all 4 sides. Think of the advertisements you could put on there for passersby to look at. There's nothing else in the region to obstruct the view. That's why the Turks are better than you people. They don't destroy, they convert and modify. Destroying doesn't bring in any revenue.

"Only question is: how long it will last before it is destroyed?"

Didn't Albanian partisans protect the Decan monastery in WWII if it wasn't for Albanians, Germans would have destroyed it to footing

This is a disgrace! How many Albanians fought in 1389?

What ever happened to allowing 999 Serbian soldiers to guard Serbian shrines in Kosovo. Boy , was 1244 so brutally violated by the US and the Albanians! But, eventually you will have to honor the UN; without it the separatists are a floating black hole in the international legal framework.

"Traditional", EU and West style, cynical and sadistic act: they are starting with Gazimestan?
Message is clear: Kosovo Albanians are to guard even our precious Kosovo Battle Monument.

Only question is: how long it will last before it is destroyed?

"KFOR said that the move reflected "the trust of NATO and nations that contribute to KFOR that the Kosovo police has the ability to perform this important task".

According to reports, KPS will be "monitored, guided and counseled" by EULEX.

KFOR will continue to monitor the security of the monument's perimeter via patrols and aerial surveillance, it was reported."

In the first paragraph, KFOR claims to trust KPS ..... yet the next 2 paragraphs pointedly contradicted this. ..... why the need for Nato to "monitor" the KPS if there is so much trust in the latter's ability and integrity? Why, further more, the need for Eulex to "guide" and "counsel" someone if you do not suspect them of possible mischief later?
