You're only partially right here. You have described Serbian province of Kosovo accurately.

"I don't understand why is everyone blaming Serbia for this mess when they should blame Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia and Romania. These five countries are the reason why this conflict is still going strong and radicalizing to an extent that it will become very uncomfortable for the whole EU.
(Bekim, 18 March 2010 14:45)"

I don't know where you get your facts but as it stands at the moment, a majority of the world (both in terms of number of countries and number of people) blame the Albanians and the US. And it looks set to stay that way. This is the very reason of this merry conference: the US trying to push its agenda through subdued intermediaries. As simple as that.

Just get your facts and figures in order before talking easy about peoples that have long been in existence.

I have a compromise, too: All persons attending the conference attend without neither their name shown, nor the name of their states. And all person will get a Zorro mask, so they can stay anonymous. For being able to address each other, everyone will get a sign with a pseudonym. For Thaci, I would suggest the nick: Snake :-)

And Albanians are comprise only 29% in Bujanovac town.

So what right have you to claim these places?

Why bother with these pathetic regional meetings - its a complete sham and a joke. They need Serbia, more than Serbia needs them. The Serbian market is much larger and stronger than many of those puppet regimes combined. Serbia will lead and not follow.

I think that Boris Tadic will go to Slovenia and will give the hand to Hashim Thaqi, i am sure, Serbia can not enter to EU without having good relation with neighbors, Tadic knows very well.

I have already suggested a "compromise solution" before Slovenian prime minister met with Tadic. If you recall I said as a compromise solution no partecipating country should display "republic"...But Serbia is not really after compromises but purely territories...

Exept " Kosovo/a being Serbia" thing I agree 100% with you, K-Albanians in Kosovo/a should have their own original old name ( Dardania ) and not some occupitional name as it have today, the sooner they realize that the better will be.

How many Croats or anyone else has Serbia recently or historically expelled? Tough to be democratic when going to a meeting with fascists.

Wonder how Croatia would react if Krajina called for independence?

First of all your numbers about expelled Serbs from Kosovo are wrong. If you were correct Kosovo would not have any Serbs left in there.

To answer your questions Serbia tried recently (1998 – 1999) to expel more than 700,000 if not more Albanians from Kosovo…and no, they did not leave because of NATO bombings but because of state-run and organized ethnic cleansing.

(Bekim, 18 March 2010 14:45)

No, the ones to be blamed are those 65 or so countries that have recognised Kosovo, and in special, those that recognised it in a such a rush in Feb 08. Those are the ones that have create all this mess.
And, specially, with such level cynicism that they don't recognised Abjasia or Sahara or Kurdistan or Palestine. And, all these cases would have, based to the reasons given by those countries to recognised Kosovo, at least, the same right to be recognised.

Now, the only way to solve this issue is the partition. K-Albanianss linving in an independent and recognised Kosovo, and the K-Serbs, in the north Ibar river as part of Serbia.

It's funny to read that all others are participating in this dialogue. Those 'All Others' like Croatia and Kosovo, have expelled more than 300k and 200k+ Serbs respectively from their sovereign countries. How many Croats or anyone else has Serbia recently or historically expelled? Tough to be democratic when going to a meeting with fascists.

Wonder how Croatia would react if Krajina called for independence?

"Just don't bother with Serbia anymore."

Obviously the Slovenian PM is not listening to you. Do you think he is in Belgrade on a sightseeing trip?

"Both parties, in the conflict, Turkish and Greek, meet regularly for talks. No one is accusing Cyprus to "implicitly or explicitly" recognizing Turkish republic.
(miri, 18 March 2010 14:16)"

I think Tadic's refusal is a practical one to forestall any desperate "Kosovan" attempts to clutch at straws and allude his attendance as tantamount to implicit recognition. After all, the reality is that Pristina is destined to remain in limbo outside the UN family of sovereign nations for a long, long time -- perhaps permanently. And there is no time limit to your so-called "supervised indepdence" -- read: you can be supervised indefinitely.

"Slovenian PM in surprise trip to Belgrade"

I didn't know that Kosovo is far more important than Serbia. If it were Albania, Croatia, Slovenia (NATO members) I would undertstand, but Kosovo, having ALL requirements fulfilled to participate, and NONE of Serbia, ...is an clear indication that Albanian element in not to distant future is to rule Balkan again.

Justice is about to arrive, and US of Albania, the Albanians, descendents of Pelasgian, Illyrians ought to master of their land again.

ICJ is aware of our history too, this is why we do not doubt that the future is equal to liberation of all territories from foreign occupation, and freedom for all.

I love when you say "Slovenia is just trying to make us all look united". So, they want to fool outsiders into showing something that isn't?

And what does being landlocked have anything to do with this meeting? Albania has access to sea and is still the poorest nation in Europe. Switzerland is landlocked and still one of the richest countries on earth. With comments like that you must be 13 years old!

And if our neighbours don't like us WHY DO THEY WANT US TO ATTEND? Then leave us the heck alone!

miri

pre 14 godina

Just don't bother with Serbia anymore. The conference itself is rather symbolic as an act in bringing the Western Balkan countries together to confirm their European Perspective. Serbia's leadership has way too many complexes and insecurities. If it was about money they would be the first to knock on the door. Why hasn't Serbia boycotted IMF and World Bank meetings, with K. being a member and having a permanent representative? Because this is just hypocritical, this is just insane. There is still money to be made, there is still political points to be scored in Serbia in the name of Kosova, that's why. These refusals are just cheap shots in the name of stupidity and insanity. What is Serbia trying to achieve for God sake? More "Tadic sticks to his guns" more will others going to stick to their guns too, and above all K-Albanians. Tadic and his crowd like to claim that K-question cannot be solved without Serbia. Yet, he is under the illusion that it could be solved without K-Albanians. Refusing and antagonizing is sheer insanity, for one thing that if Tadic was to attend under circumstances, no one, even K-Leaders would not claim that Serbia is recognizing Kosova. It's he himself who comes up with such interpretations. There has never been seen such behavior. Independence movements are not K-invention. There are numerous example where the parties have declared independence but they still shake hands and talk for the sake of sanity. Take Cyprus for example, such staunch supporter of Serbia. Both parties, in the conflict, Turkish and Greek, meet regularly for talks. No one is accusing Cyprus to "implicitly or explicitly" recognizing Turkish republic.

I hope the brdo loser conclave will finally provoke Dodik to set a date for the independence referendum. Here is how it can happen:
1) haris shows up at the conclave 2) the k-albos claim that Bosnia has recognized kosovo by being there 3) Dodik claims the muslim-croat feds have violated the Bosnia constitution and the Dayton accords (which is a part) because the Republika Srpska assembly, representing a "constituent people", voted against recognizing kosovo 4) Dodik sets the date for the independence referendum of the Bosnian Serbs.
The referendum results will show overwhelming support for independence and the RS finally declares independence. This independence will be legal since it was decided by referendum unlike kosovo's UDI which was not by popular referendum - a crucial mistake by the k-albos which was mentioned by an ICJ judge. Another fallout of the conclave is that it discredits Boris Clooney's promises about joining the eu in the eyes of the Serbian people - I read that Tommy Niko has 1 million signatures calling for a new election. I think the only clever politician in europe is Vuk - he is the only DS member to have a future in the government after the DS falls - he can claim he always followed Kostunica's constitution.

Zoran

Slovenia has thus far managed to come up with a proposed solution that would see all participants take part without their state symbols on display – something that Serbia also rejected.
--
How ridiculous, states attending a meeting without displaying their symbols? This is what the misguided EU/US policy towards "Kosova" has brought to the region. For the sake of an illegal entity run by criminals, all countries of the region must remove their national symbols?

Koštunica is spot on. “If Slovenia has forgotten to adhere to international law it is Serbia's obligation to remind it about the law..."

It is as simple as that.

it doesn't matter to whom Kosovo belonged, cos' now it is on its own, and belgrade should take advantage of the offers its getting for the sake of its own citizens.

I don't get it! If Serbia's participation is not important why is Slovenia begging us to come? Could it be that Serbia actually is at the center of the universe and that the region is dependant on Serbs and their great nation : )
I say only one thing: Plazma kex! : )

Accept 1244 or the only thing you will talk about at the conference will be the weather.
(Mikael C, 18 March 2010 11:06)

the reason is so that the region as a whole can put a front and be united in their aproach to EU. Slovenia is just trying to make us all look united.
As far as Serbia the powerhouse I beg to differ. land locked in the Ballkans with neighboors that you have attacked and dont like you... dont think so.

Too bad Serbia wants to talk about candidate status and not the weather. Kosova isn't even ready so it isn't hurt like Serbia is. This is good actually, it shows tot he 22 EU countries that Serbia must recognize Kosova or face these issues forever.

I don't understand why is everyone blaming Serbia for this mess when they should blame Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia and Romania. These five countries are the reason why this conflict is still going strong and radicalizing to an extent that it will become very uncomfortable for the whole EU.

If what you say is true, then it would be very easy, all they have to do is say Kosovo will be represented by UNMIK. But apparently they are not saying that, are they?

How many Croats or anyone else has Serbia recently or historically expelled? Tough to be democratic when going to a meeting with fascists.

Wonder how Croatia would react if Krajina called for independence?

First of all your numbers about expelled Serbs from Kosovo are wrong. If you were correct Kosovo would not have any Serbs left in there.

To answer your questions Serbia tried recently (1998 – 1999) to expel more than 700,000 if not more Albanians from Kosovo…and no, they did not leave because of NATO bombings but because of state-run and organized ethnic cleansing.

It's funny to read that all others are participating in this dialogue.

Why bother with these pathetic regional meetings - its a complete sham and a joke. They need Serbia, more than Serbia needs them. The Serbian market is much larger and stronger than many of those puppet regimes combined. Serbia will lead and not follow.
