It can get worse, Terry! All the low cost airlines entering right now the serbian market have better planes and are cheaper.

Anyone who has ever had the displeasure of flying with JAT, can imagine why the company is facing such losses as it does today. One flies with JAT out of necessity rather than choice. The planes are rickety, the staff generally anything but pleasant (although lately getting better) and the food lousy (do cheese and cucumber sandwiches on stale white bread ring a bell, with anyone) Still I would buy shares in the company because I believe the situation can't possibly get worse.
If JAT were to adopt sound business principles instead of conducting business through politics, a good future for Serbia's national carrier is a possibilty rather than a dream. They could start by getting in touch with the people of Virgin, Richard Branson's investment group. They have experience in turning around carriers from Australia and the United States and so far have done an excellent job.
